Prayer requests, please

Thank you for entrusting these two unspoken requests to prayer. Even though they remain silent to us, they are fully known to God, and He hears the prayers that are lifted from the heart even when no words are spoken out loud.

We count it a privilege to join with you in bringing them before Him. The most important part of prayer is knowing who we are addressing. We come to the Father through Jesus Christ, on the basis of His promises. It helps our faith to remember what He has promised, that He hears, that He cares, and that His Son lives to intercede for us. A quick, silent cry from the heart reaches Him as truly as any longer prayer, because prayer is not made effective by length or by eloquent words but by a sincere heart trusting Him.

Prayer takes different forms. There is worship as we acknowledge His greatness and goodness, there is petition as we bring our own needs, and there is intercession as we bring the needs of others before Him. Your silent requests are now part of that intercession. The work God does is wrought through prayer, and prayer is not limited by place or circumstance. As Paul prayed continually for the churches even while he was in chains in Rome, so prayer still goes out and accomplishes God's purposes far beyond where we are. Scripture teaches that the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person has great power, as seen in the life of Elijah, and that when two or three agree on earth concerning anything, it shall be done. Our righteousness before God is through Christ, and on that ground we can come with confidence, seeking not to make God grant our wishes but to see His will done. Jesus taught us to pray, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and that remains the purpose of all our praying.

So we pray for you now. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and thank You that You know the two burdens that have not been spoken to us but are fully open before You. We worship You for Your faithfulness and righteousness and mercy. We ask that You would work in each of these situations according to Your perfect will and wisdom. Grant guidance where there is uncertainty, strength where there is weakness, comfort where there is distress, and provision where there is need. Help our brother or sister to sense Your Spirit bringing assurance and peace, and to trust that You are working for good. We ask that what is according to Your will would be established and that You would be glorified in the outcome. We also pray that You would draw this dear one closer to You through Your Word and through prayer, growing in trust day by day.

We will continue to hold these unspoken requests before the Lord with you, trusting His love and His answer in His time and way. May you know His presence and His peace as you wait on Him. Amen.
