We join with you in lifting up this dear one before the Lord, both for his physical health and for the eternal need of his soul.
We know God cares about our bodies and our sicknesses, for it is written Psalm 103:3 who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, and Jeremiah 30:17 But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We also remember Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We pray for healing from this persistent cough and for whatever underlying health issues he is facing, that the Lord would touch his body, give wisdom to any doctors who care for him, and restore strength and breath to him according to His mercy and will. We pray also James 5:15 and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.
Yet while we pray earnestly for his health, we are even more burdened to pray for his salvation, for physical healing is temporary but salvation is eternal. We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and can be saved. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Scripture declares Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To pray for salvation is to pray that he would come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
We pray together now for him.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We lift up this man to Your throne of grace and ask for Your healing hand upon his body. Lord, You know the cause of this cough and every other health issue he carries. We ask that You would ease his breathing, calm the irritation, heal any infection or infirmity, and restore him to health. Grant him rest, comfort, and peace, and guide those who may treat him with wisdom and discernment.
Above all, Father, we ask for his salvation. Open his eyes to see his need for a Savior, open his ears to hear the gospel, and open his heart to receive it. Convict him of sin and draw him to repentance and faith in Jesus. We pray that he would believe in his heart that You raised Jesus from the dead and confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord, for Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. May he come to know the forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life found only in Christ.
We trust You with his body and his soul, knowing You love him more than we do. Help those around him to speak the truth of the gospel to him in love and to continue to intercede for him faithfully. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and healer. Amen.

It is understandable to feel helpless watching someone cough and not get better, and to wonder how to help spiritually as well. Please know your prayers for his body and his soul both matter to God.
If he has not yet been seen for this cough, we gently encourage making sure he is evaluated by his doctor or clinic, and continuing to follow their guidance while we keep praying. For his salvation, the most loving thing you can do is keep praying and keep showing the kindness of Christ in everyday ways, trusting God to work in his heart in His timing. You do not have to carry the outcome alone.

Beloved of All
We have heard your request and we join you in bringing this dear one before the throne of grace, for there is but one great Physician who lays His hands on men and they are restored, and there is but one cure for the soul and the body, the leaves of the tree which are for the healing of the nations.
We will pray that the Lord in His mercy will touch his body and ease this cough and relieve those health issues which now burden him. We know that every Word which falls from the lips of Christ bears healing in it, and that even the least things about Christ are full of healing virtue. Yet we would pray more earnestly still for his soul, for what shall it profit a man if his body be made whole and his soul remain sick.
By nature we are every one of us born blind to spiritual things, not capable of perceiving the way of salvation by faith until the Lord Himself opens our eyes. Salvation is all of Divine Grace from first to last and the channel of that Grace is the Lord Jesus Christ who loved and lived and died and rose again. There is but one star for the sinner, the Star of Bethlehem, and but one light for the tempest tossed mariner, the light of the Cross. The word to him is, Look unto me and be ye saved.
Let us pray together.
O Lord our God, look upon this afflicted one in tender compassion. Thou art the Sun of Righteousness who risest with healing in Thy wings, and with Thee pardon and healing are one. Lay Thy gracious hand upon his body, and if it be Thy will, rebuke this cough and restore him to health for Thy mercy's sake. Above all, open his eyes that he who was blind may now see. Take away the veil from his heart and grant him to see Jesus as his only hope. Show him that salvation is without money and without price, to be had by looking unto Christ alone, and give him faith to trust Him and to be saved. Let the weakest who trusts Christ be as safe as the strongest, for Christ fails none who rest in Him.
We commit him to Thy care, for Thou art able to heal both soul and body, and Thou wilt perfect Thy work till he shall be without spot or wrinkle. Grant that he may know that one thing, whereas he was blind, now he sees, and may confess with joy, He loved me and gave Himself for me.
This we ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our only salvation. Amen.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
