Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this request with such persistence and love. Repeating this prayer three times shows how deeply you care, and God hears that kind of faithful intercession. Scripture says Jesus is able to save to the uttermost because He always lives to intercede for us, and we are called to bear one another's burdens in that same spirit and so fulfill the law of Christ.
The salvation you are praying for is found in Jesus alone. His very name means the Lord our salvation. He is the anointed Messiah who came in the flesh, one God and one mediator between God and humanity, the man Christ Jesus who lays His hand on both and brings us to God. John the Baptist pointed his own disciples away from himself to Jesus as the One upon whom the Spirit descended and remained. There is no other way to be made right with God.
To be saved is more than having sins forgiven. It is to be made one with God. The Bible speaks of atonement as at one ment. When we were created we were made to be one with Him, but through one man's offense judgment and condemnation came upon all. In the same way, through the righteousness of one Man, Jesus Christ, the free gift came upon all who believe unto justification. One man's sin made many sinners, and one Man's obedience makes many righteous when they put their trust in Him. To be one with God is to truly live, and to be without Him, even while breathing, is to remain spiritually dead.
The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all people, and Scripture urges us not to put off responding. Now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. People often intend to get right with God someday, but every person who is lost is lost because they went past the time God was speaking to them. That is why your prayers matter now. God is the One who works in a heart both to give the desire and the ability to respond, and we can pray that He will do that work even as the person must work out that response with reverence toward God. Our part is to pray and to love as He loved us and forgive as He forgave us, showing the tenderness He has shown to us.
You may feel the weight of this concern, but remember that Jesus said His yoke is easy and His burden is light. The heavy burden every person carries by nature is the burden of living for self, trying to please self, which becomes intolerable. His burden is light because it is a life lived for Him, in fellowship with Him, which is joy and blessing. Pray that the one you love will be weary of that heavy burden of self and will come to find rest in Christ.
We join you in prayer that the Father, who notices even a sparrow that falls and who alone should be feared because He holds body and soul in His hands, will draw this dear one to Himself, open eyes to see Jesus as Lord and salvation, grant repentance and faith, and make them one with Him through the blood of Christ. May the Lord give you comfort in His love, fellowship of His Spirit, and assurance as you continue to intercede.
