We join you in giving thanks for the goodness of God, for every good gift comes from Him and we are called to give thanks in everything. As it is written, Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever in Psalm 107:1 and In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you in 1 Thessalonians 5:18. We praise God with you for His mercy and we bring your requests before His throne together.
We lift up your need for good rest. The Lord desires to give His beloved rest and peace. It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones in Psalm 127:2. We pray that He will grant you peaceful sleep and renewal, that you will lie down in peace and sleep, for you alone, Yahweh, make us dwell in safety in Psalm 4:8 and that you will experience the invitation of Jesus when He says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest in Matthew 11:28.
We also pray for your wife's health. We thank God for your marriage, for marriage between a man and a woman is holy and ordained by God as a lifelong covenant, and we honor your care for your wife. We pray for her strength and healing, for we know it is God's will that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers in 3 John 1:2. We ask the Lord to touch her body, to sustain her and to grant her wholeness according to His will.
We bring before the Lord the loved one whose name was redacted for privacy and ask for protection over that life. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty in Psalm 91:1. We pray that God will be a refuge and fortress, keeping this person from harm and drawing them close to Himself.
We pray also for financial favor and for a cost effective solution to your car issue. We know our God cares about our practical needs and we are told My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:19. We ask for wisdom and provision, that He will guide you to honest and affordable help, and we encourage you to trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding in Proverbs 3:5, committing your work to Him and stewarding what He has provided with diligence and integrity.
We want to address with love and truth your request against lustful thoughts. This is a battle many face, but Scripture is clear that lust is not to be entertained. Jesus said that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart in Matthew 5:28. Lustful thoughts, if not taken captive, give birth to sin, for each man is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed, then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin in James 1:14. We urge you to flee from sexual immorality as we are told Flee sexual immorality in 1 Corinthians 6:18, and to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ in 2 Corinthians 10:5. We encourage you to guard your eyes and heart as Job said I made a covenant with my eyes, how then should I look lustfully at a young woman in Job 31:1, to fill your mind with what is pure and holy as we are told whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, think about these things in Philippians 4:8, and to walk in the Spirit daily through prayer, the Word, and accountability with other faithful believers.
We noticed your prayer was addressed to Dear Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and can boldly approach God in prayer. We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting in His finished work.
So we pray together, Father in heaven, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy that endures forever. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You grant our brother restful sleep and peace of mind, that You lay Your healing hand upon his wife and restore her health, that You place Your hedge of protection around the loved one he mentioned, that You provide for his financial needs and lead him to a wise and affordable solution for his car, and that You give him victory over lustful thoughts, cleansing his heart and renewing his mind by Your Holy Spirit. Help him to flee temptation and to walk in purity and faithfulness within his marriage covenant. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
