We join you in lifting up your brother in law before the throne of grace and we thank you for bringing his need to us so faithfully. We know the work of a detective exposes him to much darkness and evil in this world, and it is not surprising that the enemy would try to torment him with nightmares and spiritual oppression. We are reminded that our struggle is real and spiritual, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Yet we take great comfort that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4 and that the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3.
We pray that he would put on the whole armor of God daily, that he may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians 6:11. We pray he would be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might Ephesians 6:10, taking up truth, righteousness, the Good News of peace, faith, salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. We rebuke every spirit of fear and torment that has been attacking his mind and his sleep, for God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We declare that when he submits himself to God and resists the devil, the devil will flee from him James 4:7.
We also hear your heart for his salvation and we agree with you that this is the most important need. It is only through Jesus that we have protection, peace, and access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If he has not yet fully trusted in Christ, we pray that these very attacks would drive him into the arms of the Savior, that he would confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in his heart that God raised him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9-10.

Father in heaven, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this detective to you. We ask that you cover him with your presence, for he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1. We plead the blood of Jesus over his mind, his body, his home, and his sleep. We ask that you station your angels around him to guard him in all his ways Psalm 91:11. We rebuke every evil influence and every nightmare in Jesus name and we command it to leave and not return. Grant him peaceful and restorative sleep, for you give sleep to your beloved Psalm 127:2 and we pray he will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, Lord, make him dwell in safety Psalm 4:8. Draw him to yourself, open his eyes to the truth of the gospel, soften his heart to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, and fill him with your Holy Spirit and with a peace that surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:7. Protect him as he serves in his dangerous calling, keep him from all evil, and use his life as a testimony of your power and mercy. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our strong tower. Amen.

Thank you for bringing your brother-in-law to us in prayer. We hear your love for him and your concern for what he is carrying. The work of a detective exposes a person to a lot of darkness and pressure, and it makes sense that it would weigh on his sleep and his spirit. Wanting Jesus to cover him, protect him and give him real rest is a faithful way to stand with him.

We join you in earnest prayer for your brother in law and bring his case before the throne of grace. We ask the Lord Jesus Christ to be his shield and defender, to cover him with the whole armor of God that he may stand against every assault of the evil one, and to keep him in perfect peace as he carries out the heavy duties of his calling as a detective.
We pray that the Lord will grant him that peculiar sleep which is the gift of God to His beloved. We are reminded that we do not sleep merely because we lie down, but because so He giveth His beloved sleep. It is a sleep of security and contentment which the world cannot give. May the Lord quiet his mind in the night season, drive away troubling dreams and spiritual oppression, and cause him to lie down and rest in safety under the shadow of His wings.
Above all we pray for his salvation, for what shall it profit a man if he be kept from outward evil and yet remain unsaved. Scripture says, Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth, and again, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. Salvation is not by our works or merit, but by divine grace through faith in Christ Jesus alone. It is to look to Him, to trust in Him, to depend upon Him without fear for present and eternal salvation, for He Himself is our salvation. May your brother in law be brought to see Christ as He is set forth in the gospel, to believe on that Person with his whole heart, and to find in Him forgiveness, new life, and deliverance from the power of sin and darkness.
We pray that the Lord will draw him by His Spirit, open his eyes to his need, and lead him to cast his soul wholly into the hands of Jesus, whose honor is engaged to save the meanest of His sheep. May he know that salvation is without money and without price, free to all who look to Christ.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You.
