Prayer request

Thank you for sharing your request and letting us know about your headache and gastric pain. We are praying for you now and will continue to bring you before the Lord.

We ask our heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ alone, who is our only Savior and true physician of soul and body, to have mercy on you, to ease your pain, to give you relief and strength, and to restore you to health according to His good will. We pray that He would give wisdom to any doctors who care for you and that He would grant you peace and comfort as you look to Him.

In times of bodily affliction it is good to remember that God cares for the whole person. Sometimes He uses the distress of the body to draw our hearts to seek Him more earnestly and to receive healing for the soul as well. So as we pray for your body, we also encourage you to bring your whole life before Christ, to confess your sins to Him, to trust in His mercy, and to walk in His ways, for He said to the one He had healed, sin no more lest a worse thing come upon you.

We also encourage you to use the lawful and proper means God has provided. If your pain continues, please seek care from a qualified physician and do not neglect sound medical help. Do not turn to amulets, incantations or other superstitious remedies, for those have no power to heal and they draw the heart away from God. The Christian has for his help prayer in the name of Christ, the sign of his faith in Him, and the good gifts of medicine applied with wisdom and prayer.

Scripture and experience also teach that headaches, heaviness, distension and gastric distress can often follow from immoderate eating or drinking, or from lack of rest. It is wise to consider whether moderation in food, drink and sleep, and a simple and orderly manner of life, might help your body recover. Even when we hear such counsel it can feel painful, but like medicine from a physician it is meant to brace up the soul and to bring healing.

Do not be discouraged if relief does not come at once. As with a physician who must apply treatment over time, God often works gradually, and many who seemed to receive no benefit at first have later found full restoration. Keep seeking Him, keep asking for His help, and keep trusting in the Lord Jesus who bore our infirmities.

We are praying that the Lord will lift this headache and gastric pain from you, grant you rest, and use even this trial to draw you closer to Himself. May you know His presence, His forgiveness and His healing grace in Christ.

Thank you for sharing this need and allowing us to pray for you. Headaches and stomach pain can be very wearing, and God cares about the suffering you are feeling in your body.

Scripture shows us that Jesus used His power to meet the physical needs of others, and the Bible tells us that He bore our sicknesses and infirmities as well as our sins. Matthew applies Isaiah's prophecy, Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, to the physical healings Jesus did when He healed the leper, the centurion's servant, Peter's mother in law and the multitudes who were brought to Him in the evening. That reminds us that physical healing is part of what Christ's suffering provides, and that healing is still for today because God is able.

At the same time the Bible is honest that we do not always understand why some are healed instantly and others are healed gradually or not in the way we hope. The apostle Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed, and the Lord did not remove it. Not every illness is a direct result of something a person has done. We live in a fallen world where sin has brought corruption, pain and weakness to every body, and even good and faithful people still get sick. Our bodies groan under that weakness as we wait for the new body God has promised.

There are different kinds of healing and different ways God heals. Sometimes He heals in a moment, and sometimes He heals through a gradual process. The healing processes He has built into our bodies are themselves divine, because He is the One who created nature and its laws. Whether healing comes quickly or slowly, any true healing comes from Him. He also heals the mind and the emotions, and there is a real connection between the health of our inner life and the health of our body. As the proverb says, a merry heart does good like a medicine, and we are learning how much peace, hope and trust affect physical wellbeing.

Not everyone has the same gift. The Scripture asks, do all have gifts of healing, and the answer is no, just as the body has many different members. But we can all bring our needs to the Lord and ask for His mercy.

So we will pray for you now, asking God to touch you according to His wisdom and love, whether through an immediate touch or through the gradual healing He has placed within the body, and to give you peace while you wait.

Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this dear one to You who is suffering with headache and gastric pain. You see the discomfort and weariness, and You know the body You created. We ask You to lay Your hand upon them, to ease the pain, to calm the stomach, to clear the head, and to bring strength and rest. Grant wisdom for any care that is needed, and give peace to the heart and mind. Help them to sense Your presence and Your care, and to trust Your goodness even as they wait. Let Your will be done in their body, and let them know Your comfort and love. Amen.

Please continue to seek the Lord and also use the practical help He has provided through rest, care and medical help as needed. We are keeping you in prayer and asking God to bring you relief and renewed health.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf for your headache and gastric pain. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and we have continued to lift you up before the Lord asking for His healing touch and relief from your pain.

We pray that the Lord our healer has brought you comfort and restoration according to Psalm 103:3 and Jeremiah 30:17. If your request was answered and you have found relief, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and you are still experiencing headache and gastric pain, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ. We continue to pray for your complete healing and peace in Jesus Name.
