Beloved of All
I am feeling like someone is using a native language that is cursing my body and my soul. I hear apologies from them but they quickly follow with a different tone that is more like hatred, Holy Spirit would you reveal to me the truth behind this and give me the strength to invoke a protective power to keep me safe while this person if not being right.

We hear your cry for protection and discernment, and we stand with you in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already disarmed the powers of darkness. The Scripture declares, "For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:3-4 WEB). What you are describing, this shifting tone, these hidden curses, is not of God. The enemy comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life abundantly (John 10:10 WEB).

First, we must address the spiritual warfare at hand. The Bible warns, "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11 WEB). You are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness. We rebuke in the name of Jesus any curse, hex, or ungodly word spoken over you. "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me," says Yahweh (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). We break every assignment of the enemy over your life, your health, and your soul. You are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no curse can alight upon you.

We also urge you to examine the relationship closely. Apologies followed by hatred are not the fruit of the Spirit. "By their fruits you will know them" (Matthew 7:16 WEB). If this person is not walking in repentance and truth, they may be operating under deception, or worse, under the influence of the enemy. Do not engage in prolonged conversation with them if it brings spiritual harm. "Do not give that which is holy to the dogs, neither throw your pearls before the pigs, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces" (Matthew 7:6 WEB). Your safety, spiritual, emotional, and physical, is paramount.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name that is above every name. We lift up our dear brother/sister to You, knowing that You see the hidden things, the whispers of the enemy, and the true heart of this situation. Lord, we ask that You would reveal the full truth, whether this is deception, spiritual attack, or something else entirely. Give them discernment by the Holy Spirit to recognize the schemes of the devil and the strength to stand firm in faith.

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We break every curse, every word spoken in hatred, every assignment of darkness over their life, in the authority of Jesus Christ. We plead the blood of Jesus over their body, soul, and spirit. Surround them with Your holy angels, Lord, and let Your peace guard their heart and mind.

Father, if this person is not aligned with Your will, we ask that You would either bring them to true repentance or remove them from our brother/sister’s life. Protect them from manipulation, fear, and spiritual harm. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in boldness and not in fear. Remind them that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4 WEB).

We thank You, Lord, that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust You to bring justice, truth, and healing. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in the Word. Memorize Scriptures that speak to your protection and identity in Christ. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable. If this situation involves someone close to you, consider seeking godly counsel from a pastor or mature Christian who can help you navigate it with wisdom. You are not alone, God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1 WEB).

It’s unsettling when you sense someone’s words carry something dark, especially when apologies seem to flip into something that feels like hatred. We don’t always get to know the full truth behind another person’s heart, but we do know where to anchor ourselves in the middle of it. The Holy Spirit is our discerner and our shield, and you’ve already done the right thing by calling on Him. Now we can ask Him not only to reveal what we need to see, but to steady our own spirit so fear doesn’t take up more room than it deserves.

One thing that often helps when we feel spiritually targeted is to bring it into the light with a trusted, mature believer, someone you can pray with face to face, even briefly. There is real strength when even two or three agree together in Jesus’ name. And while we ask God to uncover whatever needs to be exposed, we also want to fill our minds with His truth more than with the mystery. That doesn’t ignore the threat; it puts it under Christ’s feet, where it belongs. Your safety is precious to Him, and His presence is not a thin shield, it is your real home.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, we come to You in the middle of this fear and confusion. Surround our friend with Your peace that silences every voice of hatred. By Your Spirit, reveal only what is necessary for clarity and protection, and guard their heart from everything else. Give them the steady courage to rest in Your love and not in second-guessing another’s intentions. We place them under Your mighty hand, where no curse can stand and no darkness can reach. In Your name we ask this. Amen.

The tongue of man can carry a venom sharper than the serpent’s tooth, yet no curse from human lips can cleave to the soul which is hidden in Christ. What you describe, words of apology followed by tones of hatred, sounds indeed like the hiss of the enemy, for Satan is the accuser and the father of lies. You do well to ask the Holy Spirit for truth, for it is written, "Buy the truth, and sell it not." The truth you need is not merely about that other person's secret motives; it is the deeper truth of your own safety in Jesus. If you are in Christ, the curse of the Law has fallen upon Him instead of you. Christ has redeemed you from the curse, being made a curse for you. No ill-wishing of man can touch one whom the blood has sprinkled.

Strength to endure this trial will not come by frantically invoking some power of your own, but by waiting upon the Lord. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Cease looking at the shifting shadows of another’s words and look to the unchanging God. The glory of your strength lies in Him alone. When you are without might, He increases strength, and it is for your safety and honor that you possess it. Do not answer hatred with fear, nor meet the false tone with despair. This is the war of truth, and you must stand valiantly, not by wrestling with flesh and blood, but by hiding yourself in the cleft of the rock. Let the truth that God is your shield be the experimental truth woven into your heart right now, so that you know it as certainly as you know your own existence.

Wait, then, in quiet confidence. If the Spirit reveals that the apology is hollow, what of it? Your safety is not built upon the sincerity of another sinner, but upon the finished work of the Great Substitute. Let all these vexing words drive you to the Cross, where the curse was swallowed up in blessing. Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might, and you need not fear what man can do unto you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The tongue that speaks apology with one breath and hatred with the next reveals a heart divided against itself. You do not need to fear a curse spoken over you by any human voice, for Christ has redeemed you from every curse. The curse of the Law fell upon Him who hung upon the tree, though He was innocent, so that the curses that rightly belong to our transgressions might be broken and stripped of their power. No words of malediction from another person can cling to a soul washed in this truth. The enemy would have you tremble at shadows, but the light of Christ dissolves every darkness.

The Holy Spirit is not a distant judge withholding revelation. Ask, and He will give you the discernment to see the root behind these words. Error is multiform and shifting, but truth is one and unwavering. When apologies are followed by a tone of hatred, you are witnessing the unrighteousness that holds the truth captive. That person’s struggle is not ultimately against you but against the truth they suppress, and their words are the overflow of that inner war. You are not called to decode every dark syllable but to stand firm in the safety of Christ’s pasture, where no one can thrust you out. The sheep who hears the Shepherd’s voice and remains within His care walks in security, even when wolves howl at the gate.

Do not let this trial rob you of peace. The affliction was not meant to become an occasion of grief but an opportunity for your faith to be proven genuine. Just as Paul’s boasting to Titus about the Corinthians was found to be truth, so your steadfastness amid these verbal assaults will be a testimony. You have a talent given you: the ability to pray, to stand, to love your enemy in the midst of confusion. Use it. Contribute your diligence and protection for that person’s ultimate good, even while refusing to let their sin define your safety. Live for the common advantage of their soul, not by celebrating their wrong, but by refusing to let it poison your own.

Remember too that Christ came to confirm the promises made to the fathers. You are an heir of a blessing that no human tongue can revoke. If the world speaks peace and safety while living in insensibility to God, how much more are you kept safe who see the true light and abide in the Word? The one who is conscious of no evil, who clings to faith working through love, suffers nothing dreadful from such attacks. Only he who does evil need fear. Since you belong to Christ, stand in that freedom. The protective power you seek is not a magic formula but the manifest presence of the One who has already overcome the world. Let His perfect love cast out that fear.

What you are sensing, that clash between a surface apology and an undertow of hatred, is real spiritual turbulence. The enemy often works through confusion and mixed signals, and the inner alarm you feel is a gift, a prompting of the Holy Spirit not to be ignored. You are right to ask for the truth behind it, because the heart is where the true battle is waged. The war inside every believer is between the spirit and the flesh, and that conflict isn't only internal to us; it can be stirred up by words and intentions flung at us from outside, meant to vex the soul.

The hardest part of discernment is that spiritual attack often rides in on something natural, something that even sounds reasonable or apologetic at first. God does speak to our spirit, but our own thoughts and the enemy’s suggestions also knock at the door of our mind. The way the tone shifts so quickly from apology to hatred is a signature of something that is not of the Lord. The Spirit of truth doesn’t bring that double-mindedness. When Jesus is speaking, His words bring grace, mercy, and peace from the Father, and they align with the truth that dwells in you. A voice that leaves you feeling cursed in body and soul, regardless of the words it uses, is a voice you must test against that peace.

The impulse to invoke a protective power is a cry for a shield, and that shield is found not in your own incantation but in abiding under the covering you already have. Remember when the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, that removal of protection gave opportunity for an evil spirit to rush in and trouble him. The only relief came when David played and the presence of the Lord returned to bring refreshment. Your safety doesn’t lie in trying to wield a power of your own against the cursing; it lies in pressing closer to the One whose perfect love casts out fear. Stay fast by Him, let your eyes be fixed on the field He has given you to reap, and do not wander off into other fields to try to fight this battle in the flesh. He has charged those in His service to guard you.

When David was provoked by Nabal and strapped on his sword to avenge himself, God used Abigail’s calm wisdom to stop him from shedding blood with his own hand. David gave glory to the Lord afterward because he saw that God had kept him from avenging himself and instead dealt with the wickedness in His own way. The strength you need is not the strength to fling a power back, but the strength to hold your peace, to stand still, and to see the salvation of the Lord. Commend this whole twisting situation into the hands of the righteous Judge who sees every heart perfectly.

Pray that the Spirit would not only reveal the truth but would muzzle the effect of those words in your inner man. Ask Him to make the truth so loud in your soul that the other voice becomes a meaningless noise. The Son has already redeemed you from the domain of darkness. Walk in that truth, love in that truth, and let the peace of God the Father settle over your mind as a garrison. The One who is in you is greater than any venom being sent toward you.
