Prayer request

Disciple of Prayer
About 27 years ago I just graduated from college with a master's degree and shortly after that I got a good job with a good salary. But after this happened 1 or 2 years later I lost my job and since then I have not got a good job so far and so kindly pray that I will get a good job soon. Kindly also pray for my health which has badly deteriorated over the past 27 years because of which I may also be in the valley of death today with sleepless nights and so kindly pray that God will fully restore my health soon.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your struggles to our Heavenly Father. It is written in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Though you have walked through deep valleys of unemployment and failing health for many years, God’s plans for you remain good. His timing is perfect, even when we cannot see the path ahead.

We must address the spiritual weight of this season. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and prolonged suffering can lead to despair if we do not anchor ourselves in Christ. We rebuke the spirit of discouragement and hopelessness that may have taken root in your heart. You are not forgotten, God collects every tear (Psalm 56:8) and hears the cries of His children. But we must also ask: Have you surrendered this struggle fully to Jesus? Have you invited Him into every sleepless night and every moment of fear? Salvation is found in no other name, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). If you have not placed your trust in Christ alone, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive the gift of eternal life.

For your employment, we pray that the Lord would open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). You are not defined by your past job loss or your current circumstances. God equips those He calls (Hebrews 13:21), and He has given you skills, education, and experience for such a time as this. We declare that your next job will not only provide for your needs but will also be a place where you can glorify Him. We rebuke the spirit of lack and poverty in Jesus’ name and command every hindrance to your provision to be removed.

For your health, we stand on the promise of Psalm 103:2-3: "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." We pray for complete restoration, body, mind, and spirit. The valley of death has no power over you, for Jesus conquered death and holds the keys to life (Revelation 1:18). We command every sickness, pain, and sleepless night to flee in the name of Jesus. We ask the Great Physician to touch you with His healing hand and renew your strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). We also encourage you to seek godly medical counsel and to steward your body as a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

We pray this in unity, believing that God hears and answers:

"Father God, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up our brother/sister who has endured so much. Lord, You see the years of struggle, the sleepless nights, and the weariness of soul. We ask that You would break every chain of unemployment and sickness in Jesus’ name. Restore what has been lost and heal what has been broken. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his/her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Provide a job that aligns with Your purpose, and let it be a testimony of Your faithfulness. Heal every part of his/her body and renew his/her strength. Remind him/her daily that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). May he/she rise up in victory, knowing that You are making all things new (Revelation 21:5). We declare this over his/her life in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen."

Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Surround yourself with believers who can pray with and for you, and continue to seek the Lord in His Word. He is your Provider, your Healer, and your Hope.

We have been carrying your request with us. Twenty-seven years is a long time to carry the weight of a lost career and failing health, and we do not want to simply rush past that. The slow erosion of hope, the sleepless nights, the feeling that you are in the valley of the shadow, these are heavy burdens. We are not surprised that you are weary.

When joblessness stretches into years, it is common to feel that your sense of purpose and identity has slowly drained away. Our esteem often gets tangled up in our work, and to lose that can make a person feel invisible. Pair that with chronic illness and the exhaustion of unrelenting pain, and it is completely understandable that you feel close to death. We believe God sees you in this exact place, not as a project to be fixed, but as a person to be walked alongside.

Because you mentioned sleepless nights and a health decline that feels urgent, we want to gently encourage you to let a physician walk alongside you as well. Seeking medical attention is not a lack of faith; it is a practical way to steward the life God has given you while we pray for restoration. Sometimes the very help we are praying for comes through the hands of a skilled doctor.

Father, thank you that you are not distant from this long, dry season. We lift up our friend who feels forgotten and worn out. In your mercy, open a door to meaningful work, not just a paycheck but a place to use the gifts you have given. And we ask boldly for restored health. Please guide them to the right help, give them a few hours of true rest tonight, and let them sense that even in the valley, they are not alone. We ask this in Jesus’ name.

I would have you look full upon the valley you now tread, for it is a place the saints have known. You speak of sleepless nights and a body wasting these ### years, and you fear the shadow of death lies heavy upon you. But mark this: the valley is but the shadow of death, not death itself. A shadow cannot destroy a man. The substance fell upon Christ at Calvary; He drained the cup of death dry for all His people. Your sickness and your long unemployment are a sentence of death upon your self-trust, a bitter work of grace to teach you that your reliance must be upon God alone. When all our own springs are dried up, we learn that His fountain never fails.

These years of affliction have seemed as though God Himself had cast you aside. But hear His promise: “They shall be as though I had not cast them aside.” The Lord can make a clean sweep of all that has gone wrong. In virtue of Christ’s sacrifice, He stands ready to restore the years the locust has eaten. Do not measure His ability by your circumstances. He who prolonged the days of His own Son after death can certainly bring life into your mortal body and open a door of useful labor which no man can shut. Your health and your employment are both in the hand of Him who orders all the details of our lives, time, place, and circumstances, according to His word.

You dread the sleepless nights and the approach of the end. But why should you fear? Death has lost its sting for everyone who trusts in Jesus. Its terror is removed because Christ went through it as the representative Head of all His people. You do not go solitary and alone; the footprint of the Lord of Life is set in the rock forever, even in that valley. And is it not often the case that our prayers for deliverance and for a closer walk with God are answered most fully when we come near to the gates of the grave? I pray your faith fail not in this hour. Satan desires to sift you as wheat, but the Lord Jesus prays for you. His prayer cannot fail. He will restore you, and when He does, your shame at having feared so greatly will be swallowed up in gratitude. Look to the cross, the place where death itself was put to death, and in that look receive strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow. The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have endured a long affliction, ### years without a good job, your health broken, sleepless nights, and the dread of death drawing near. Such a trial is not without purpose. When the Lord permits our worldly prospects to wither, it is often to uproot the love of money and the trust we place in a good salary. True poverty does not consist in lacking money, but in desiring many things; true wealth is to need nothing and to possess Christ. The rich man of the Gospel was not condemned for his riches, but because he showed no pity and trusted in his abundance, while Lazarus, poor and covered with sores, rested in Abraham’s bosom. So do not judge your situation by outward appearance. What seems a curse may be the medicine your soul required.

As for your health, remember how the Lord touched Peter’s mother-in-law, and the fever left her at once, and she was restored to full strength immediately. He could do the same for you. Yet sometimes He delays, not from neglect, but to draw you nearer to Himself. Sleepless nights become a time for vigilance and prayer; when luxury gives sleeplessness it is a torment, but when illness brings it, it can be a sacred vigil. Do not despair even if you feel you walk through the valley of death. I have said before that even at the very gates of hell it is possible to recover and lay hold on eternal life. God’s mercy is patient, and after many years of hearing, a soul may suddenly bear abundant fruit.

Consider Epaphroditus, who was sick almost to death, but God had mercy on him, and Paul sent him back with all speed because his recovery brought great joy. So we do pray for your healing and for a suitable provision. But I would have you seek first the health of the soul, which neither sickness nor poverty can touch. Christ can make a whole man sound in spirit, whereas earthly remedies are partial. If your body is restored, use it to serve Him; if not, let your patience be a witness. Examine your conscience: perhaps the loss of that first good job was meant to cure a hidden greed or pride. Accept the treatment of the Physician, even when it stings. I exhort you, therefore, cast your care upon God, give alms from whatever little you have, and trust that He who raised the dead will in His own time restore you or receive you into everlasting habitations.
