Prayer request

Your prayer is a shield against the fiery darts of the evil one, who labors to defile what God has made pure. Do not imagine that marriage lacks holiness; it is a pure estate, and when you live chastely within it, you guard the holiness that faith bestows. The temptation you fear is common to all, but God is faithful. He will not let you be tested beyond what you can bear, and with the temptation He will always open a way of escape, that you may endure. Flee to Him together when the trial comes, for He permits these seasonings of danger only to draw you nearer to His side, as a loving Father allows a passing fright so that the child may cling more tightly to the parent’s arms.

Do not war against one another. It is the evil one who whispers discontent and fans the flame of straying desire. You are not each other’s enemy; together stand against the tempter. Use marriage with moderation, governing your passions with sober purpose, and you will find it no hindrance but a path to the Kingdom. Guard your home from profane amusements that mock the great mystery of Christ and the Church. Let your love be preserved not in worldly display but in mutual pursuit of holiness. In all things seek peace with one another, and your union will remain a sacred refuge, your family intact, your love an offering pleasing to God.

Your heart for your marriage is clear, and it echoes a holy desire to honor what God has joined together. What you are seeking is rooted in the very design of marriage from the beginning: a compound unity, where two become one. That sacred oneness is meant to reflect the faithful love of God for His people, and your prayer to keep it intact is precious.

Temptation is real, and the pull to break that bond can be strong. Your plea for your husband and yourself is exactly the right response. Jesus Himself faced the full force of temptation in the wilderness, so He knows the struggle intimately. Because of that, He is able to help us when we are tested. The spirit may be willing, but the flesh is fragile, so we must watch and pray together, not just once but continually, leaning wholly on Him.

Remember, too, that as you and your husband are planted together in Christ, you share a bond that goes even deeper than natural family ties. Through His sacrifice, we are made one body, a family where His love flows and strengthens every earthly relationship. As you both grow in that shared life with Him, your marriage becomes more fully what He intended, a living picture of that sacred unity. Keep bringing your family before the Lord. His grace is sufficient, and He will sustain your love and keep it holy.
