It is deeply encouraging that you are bringing these cares so earnestly before the Lord. Prayer that clings to God’s power and mercy never goes unnoticed by Him. I want to share some truths from Scripture that speak directly to what you have laid before Him, because His Word gives us a sure path for the home and the heart.

You have prayed about faithfulness in your marriage, and that is exactly where God’s design begins. He gave a simple and beautiful order: a husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her, and a wife is to respect and submit to her husband as to the Lord. When these two things are practiced in the grace God supplies, the marriage becomes a shelter. The husband who feels that respectful trust finds it a freedom to pour out his love, and the wife who is cherished and secure finds it not a burden but a joy to follow his lead. It is a cycle that grows sweeter with time. So do not only pray that he would be honest and faithful; ask God to fill you with such a believable love for your husband, and such a gentle and quiet spirit, that your own life becomes a means of drawing him toward all that is right. And remember this precious truth: if you are a believer, your very faith in Christ brings a sanctifying influence into your home. The Scripture teaches that an unbelieving husband is sanctified by his believing wife, and that your children are holy, set apart under a covering of grace. Your faithfulness to God is an anchor for your whole household, even in matters you cannot yet see.

Regarding your children, your prayer for their safety and health is a mother’s cry that touches God’s fatherly heart. Teach them to see His hand in every good thing. The old covenant was filled with commands to answer the children’s questions: “What does this mean?” so that they would know the Lord’s deliverance. Your home can be that place of light where they learn to love what is pure. Be watchful not to provoke them by unreasonable demands or by constant irritation, but rather nurture them in the loving fear of the Lord. Trust that the same God who watched over Israel’s little ones is able to keep your children from sickness and harm, and to preserve their souls for Himself.

Your request to live to a full age and to be kept healthy touches on something we all must hold loosely. God may grant you long years and a sound body, like Moses whose vigor never waned right up to his final day. But more importantly, ask Him for the grace to give thanks in whatever state you find yourself, whether in strength or in weakness. True health is not only in the body but in a soul that rests in His will. As you care for your patients, making their treatment plans comfortable and helpful, you are serving Christ by serving them. Pray that your work would be done with skill and compassion, and that the Lord would prosper the labor of your hands. Financial needs are real, and He knows your debts. The God who parted the sea and provided manna in the wilderness can open the windows of heaven for your daily bread and monthly goals. Keep seeking His kingdom first, and do your work as unto Him, and trust His timing.

Walk as a child of light in all these things, refusing the darkness of anxiety and self-reliance. Keep crying out to the Lord, as Israel did when they were pressed by the enemy, and He will raise up deliverance in His own way. He is faithful, and He will not fail you.
