We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing that one of our brothers or sisters is suffering from cough and fever. The Word reminds us in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."
We lift up this request to You, Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your healing power. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or made whole (Acts 4:12). We declare that by His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on this promise now.
Heavenly Father, we ask that You lay Your healing hands upon our brother or sister. Touch their body and bring restoration to every part that is afflicted. We rebuke this cough and fever in the name of Jesus, for it has no place in their life. We command it to leave now and never return. Strengthen their immune system, Lord, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we also ask that You reveal any areas in their life where sin may be present, that they may confess and turn away from it, receiving Your forgiveness and cleansing (1 John 1:9). We pray for their spiritual well-being as much as their physical health, for You desire that we prosper in all things and be in health, just as our soul prospers (3 John 1:2).
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We believe that You are already at work in this situation, bringing healing and comfort. We declare that our brother or sister is made whole in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
We encourage you to seek godly counsel and medical attention as needed, for the Lord often uses these means to bring about healing. Continue to stand on God's promises and trust in His faithfulness. Remember, the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective (James 5:16). Keep your heart open to the Lord's leading, and He will guide you through this time of sickness into a place of health and wholeness.
