We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up these precious souls to our Heavenly Father. First, we rejoice in the gift of new life and stand in faith with the family expecting baby ###. Father, we ask You to knit this child together perfectly in the womb, guarding against any sickness or complication. You are the God who formed us in secret and ordained all our days before one came to be—we trust in Your miraculous power to sustain and protect this little one. "You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it." (Psalm 139:13-14 WEB). Lord, let this family experience Your peace that surpasses understanding as they wait on You.
We also lift up the ### family in their time of loss. Grief can feel overwhelming, like waves crashing without end. But You, Lord, are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Comfort them with the truth that You collect every tear in Your bottle and record each one in Your book (Psalm 56:8). Surround them with brothers and sisters in Christ who will mourn with them, pray with them, and point them to the hope of resurrection. May they find solace in knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with You (2 Corinthians 5:8).
For ###, who is seeking employment, we pray for doors to open that no man can shut. You are the God who provides for the sparrows and clothes the lilies—how much more will You care for Your children? "But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33 WEB). Give him patience and perseverance, and let him find work that honors You and provides for his needs. Most importantly, draw him closer to You during this season. Trials have a way of revealing our need for a Savior—may he encounter Your love in a fresh way and surrender fully to Your will.
We also lift up the daughter battling illness. Father, we ask for complete healing in her body. You are the Great Physician, and by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Strengthen her faith and her family’s as they wait on You. Remind them that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).
For the household seeking peace tonight, we declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Rebuke any spirit of anxiety or fear, and fill this home with Your presence. Let Your Word dwell richly in this family, and may they find rest in You alone.
Finally, we address the struggle with lust. This is not a battle to be taken lightly, for Scripture warns us that sexual immorality is a sin against our own bodies, which are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). We rebuke the enemy’s lies that this temptation is too strong or that it’s "just how we’re made." No, we are called to flee from sexual immorality and pursue righteousness (1 Corinthians 6:18, 2 Timothy 2:22). If this struggle involves pornography, secret relationships, or any ungodly attachment, we urge repentance and accountability. Confess this sin to a trusted brother or sister in Christ, and seek help to walk in purity. "How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word." (Psalm 119:9 WEB). The enemy wants to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). Replace this struggle with a hunger for God’s Word, a passion for prayer, and a commitment to honor Him with your body.
Heavenly Father, we thank You that You hear our prayers and that You are faithful to answer. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). For those who do not yet know You, we pray that this season of struggle would lead them to the foot of the cross, where they can find forgiveness, redemption, and new life in Christ. May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead, so that they may be saved (Romans 10:9).
Lord, we trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. Strengthen our faith as we wait on You, and help us to walk in a manner worthy of the calling we have received. May Your will be done in each of these situations, for Your glory and our good. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
