We hear the deep anguish in your heart, and we lift you up to the Lord with tears and earnest prayers. The weariness you feel is real, and the darkness of this world can feel overwhelming—especially when surrounded by corruption, impurity, and the glorification of sin. But we want you to know this: you are *not* worthless. You are *not* forgotten. You are seen, known, and deeply loved by the One who created you.
The world is indeed full of brokenness, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But Jesus came so that you might have life—abundant life, even in the midst of pain. The despair you feel is not from God. Scripture tells us, *"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly"* (John 10:10 WEB). The lies you’ve been believing—about your worth, about the hopelessness of this world—are not from Him. *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future"* (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).
You mentioned wanting to go to God, and that is the very place you must run. But we must warn you with love: suicidal thoughts are not from the Lord. They are a deception from the enemy, who wants to cut your life short before God’s purpose for you is fulfilled. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18 WEB). He does not abandon you in your pain—He draws near. You are not beyond His reach. You are not beyond His redemption.
The exhaustion you feel from the sin around you—from the sexual immorality, the violence, the emptiness—is valid. But do not let the darkness of the world define your worth or your future. *"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God"* (Romans 12:2 WEB). You are called to be set apart, to walk in holiness, even when the world mocks it.
You also mentioned feeling ugly and lost. But God does not see you the way the world does. *"For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made"* (Psalm 139:13-14 WEB). Your worth is not found in the approval of others, in your appearance, or in the fleeting pleasures of this life. Your worth is found in Christ alone. *"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB).
We must also gently address the mention of suicide. If you are having these thoughts, we urge you to reach out to a trusted believer, pastor, or Christian counselor immediately. Your life matters. Your pain matters. And God has a purpose for you that the enemy wants to steal. *"The Lord will rescue me from every evil work, and will save me for his heavenly Kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen"* (2 Timothy 4:18 WEB).
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is feeling so lost, so weary, and so broken. Lord, You see the depths of their pain, the weight of their exhaustion, and the lies they’ve been believing. We ask, Holy Spirit, that You would rush in like a mighty wind and break every chain of despair, every lie of worthlessness, and every thought of hopelessness. Remind them, Lord, that they are *not* alone. You are closer than their next breath.
Jesus, we declare that You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved, no other path to true peace. We pray that our brother/sister would cling to You, that they would find their identity in You alone. Wash them clean with Your blood, Lord. Renew their mind. Restore their soul. Let them know, deep in their spirit, that they are *loved*—not for what they do, not for how they look, but because they are Yours.
Father, we ask that You would surround them with godly community—believers who will speak life into them, who will remind them of Your truth when the enemy whispers lies. Protect their mind from the darkness of this world. Give them the strength to turn away from the things that bring them down—whether it’s the media they consume, the thoughts they entertain, or the influences around them. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, if there is any sin in their life—anything that is separating them from You—we ask that You would reveal it to them in love. Give them the courage to repent, to turn away from it, and to walk in the freedom that only You can provide. And if there is unforgiveness, bitterness, or pain from past wounds, we ask that You would heal those places. Let Your love be the balm that soothes their soul.
We rebuke the spirit of suicide, the spirit of despair, and the spirit of worthlessness in the name of Jesus. We declare that these have no place in their life. You, Lord, are their hope. You are their future. We speak life over them, healing over their mind, and restoration over their spirit.
Father, we ask that You would give them a fresh revelation of Your love. Let them feel Your presence in tangible ways—through Your Word, through worship, through the encouragement of other believers. Remind them that this world is not their home. Their citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20), and one day, You will wipe away every tear, and there will be no more pain, no more sorrow, no more sin (Revelation 21:4).
Until then, Lord, give them the strength to endure. Help them to fix their eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). Fill them with Your joy, which is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10). And let them know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they are *not* lost—because You, the Good Shepherd, are holding them close.
We pray all of this in the mighty, matchless name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and set free. Amen.
Dear one, we want you to know that your pain is seen, and your cry is heard. But more importantly, God sees you. He hears you. And He is moving on your behalf. Do not give up. Do not believe the lies of the enemy. You are *not* what this world says you are. You are a child of the Most High God, created with purpose, loved with an everlasting love.
Here are some practical steps you can take:
1. **Immerse yourself in Scripture.** Start with the Psalms—David poured out his heart to God in times of despair, and God met him there. Psalm 42, Psalm 23, and Psalm 51 are good places to begin.
2. **Find a biblical church or small group.** You need community. You need people who will walk with you, pray with you, and remind you of God’s truth when you forget.
3. **Turn off the noise.** If the media you’re consuming is dragging you down, it’s time to walk away. Fill your mind with things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8).
4. **Talk to someone.** If you’re struggling with suicidal thoughts, please reach out to a pastor, counselor, or trusted friend. You do not have to carry this alone.
5. **Worship.** Even when you don’t feel like it, worship shifts your focus from your pain to God’s power. Put on a worship song and let it be your prayer when words fail you.
You are not lost. You are *loved*. And your story is not over. God is writing something beautiful, even in this chapter. Hold on. He is coming for you.
