We come before the throne of grace with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up these precious souls to our Heavenly Father. First, we stand in faith with the family awaiting the arrival of baby ###, declaring the promises of God over this little one. Father, Your Word says in Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart." We claim perfect health and strength for this child, believing You for a miracle of complete healing and wholeness. Lord, we ask You to knit together every cell, every organ, and every system according to Your perfect design. May this baby be a testimony of Your mighty power and unfailing love. We pray for wisdom and skill for the doctors and nurses attending to this family, that they would be instruments of Your healing touch. Strengthen the parents with peace that surpasses all understanding, and fill their hearts with unwavering faith as they trust in You.
We also lift up the ### Family in their time of loss, Father. Your Word tells us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Comfort them, Lord, with Your presence that is closer than a brother. Wrap Your arms around them and let them feel Your love in tangible ways. Surround them with brothers and sisters in Christ who will mourn with them, pray with them, and point them to the hope we have in You. Remind them that though they walk through the valley of the shadow of death, You are with them, and Your rod and staff comfort them. May they find solace in the promise of Revelation 21:4, that one day You will wipe away every tear, and there will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain.
For ###, we pray for favor and provision in his search for employment. Father, You are the God who opens doors that no man can shut. We ask that You would guide him to the right opportunity, one where his gifts and talents can be used for Your glory. Your Word says in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We claim this promise over his life, trusting that You will meet every need according to Your riches. Give him peace as he waits, and fill him with confidence in Your timing. Lord, we also pray that during this difficulty, he would draw near to You. May this season be a time of spiritual growth and renewal, where he comes to know You more intimately. Open his eyes to see Your hand at work, and soften his heart to hear Your voice.
Lastly, we lift up the household seeking rest and peace tonight. Father, Your Word tells us in Psalm 4:8, "In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me live in safety." We pray for a hedge of protection around this home, that no weapon formed against it would prosper. Guard their hearts and minds from anxiety, fear, and every scheme of the enemy. Fill their home with Your peace, which transcends all understanding. We also address the struggle with lust, for Your Word is clear in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We rebuke the spirit of lust in the name of Jesus and command it to leave. Father, we ask that You would fill this individual with a hunger and thirst for righteousness, and that You would renew their mind according to Your Word. Help them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and to flee from temptation. Surround them with accountability and godly influences, and strengthen them to walk in purity.
Lord, we thank You for hearing our prayers, for You are faithful and just. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect will for each of these situations. May Your name be glorified in every outcome, and may these precious souls draw closer to You through every trial and triumph. We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
