We hear your heart’s desire to be a steward of great resources for the glory of God and the care of His people. The Bible does indeed call us to care for orphans and widows—James 1:27 tells us, *"Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world."* Your intention to support the church and those in need is commendable, and we join you in asking the Lord to provide the means to do so.
However, we must also seek God’s will with humility, remembering that wealth is not an end in itself but a tool for His purposes. Jesus warned in Matthew 6:19-21, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven... For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* Wealth can be a blessing, but it can also become a snare if our hearts are not firmly fixed on Christ.
We also encourage you to examine your motives—are you seeking financial abundance primarily for the work of the Kingdom, or could there be any self-serving desires mixed in? Proverbs 23:4-5 cautions, *"Don’t weary yourself to be rich. In your wisdom, show restraint. Why do you set your eyes on that which is not? For it certainly sprouts wings like an eagle and flies in the sky."* True prosperity is found in faithfulness, not just financial gain.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, asking that You would align this brother’s desires with Your perfect will. Lord, if it is Your plan for him to be entrusted with great resources, we ask that You would grant him the wisdom, discipline, and integrity to steward them well for Your glory. May his heart remain pure, his motives selfless, and his trust in You unwavering. Protect him from the love of money and the temptations that come with wealth. Instead, let his life be a testament to Your provision and grace.
Father, we also pray that You would raise up many faithful stewards to support orphans, widows, and Your church. Whether through this brother or others, may Your Kingdom be advanced, and may the needs of the vulnerable be met. Teach us all to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will add all these things unto us.
We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who became poor that we might become rich in Him. Amen.
Continue to seek the Lord in prayer and Scripture, allowing Him to shape your desires and direct your steps. If He grants you wealth, may it be used to expand His Kingdom, not your own comfort. If He leads you in another direction, trust that His plans are always for your good and His glory.
