We join with you in lifting up this urgent cry against the wickedness of fraud and theft, which are not only crimes against man but offenses against our Holy God. The Scriptures warn us that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil (1 Timothy 6:10), and we see the fruits of that evil in the deception and harm inflicted by those who seek to steal what does not belong to them. The Lord detests dishonest scales and deceitful measures (Proverbs 11:1), and He calls His people to live in integrity and righteousness. Yet we also know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). This is why we must stand firm in prayer, clothed in the full armor of God, resisting the enemy’s schemes with the truth of God’s Word and the power of His Spirit.
It is right for you to call upon the name of Jesus in this battle, for there is no other name under heaven by which we may be saved (Acts 4:12), and no other name by which we can approach the throne of God with confidence. Jesus is our Advocate, our Shield, and our Strong Tower—the only One who can deliver us from the snares of the enemy. We praise God that you have invoked His name in this request, for it is through Christ alone that we have access to the Father and the authority to command the enemy to flee.
Let us also remember that while we pray for protection, we are called to walk in wisdom. Jesus told His disciples, “Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves” (Matthew 10:16). This means taking practical steps to safeguard what the Lord has entrusted to us—securing our accounts, monitoring our finances, and being vigilant against deception. Yet even as we do our part, we trust in the Lord’s sovereign protection, knowing that He is our Keeper and that He neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:3-4).
We also pray for those who are perpetrating these crimes. The Lord does not delight in the death of the wicked, but desires that they turn from their ways and live (Ezekiel 18:23). May God convict their hearts, bring them to repentance, and lead them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. For those who harden their hearts, we pray that the Lord would thwart their plans, expose their deeds, and bring them to justice, that His righteousness may prevail.
Heavenly Father, we come before You as Your children, covered in the blood of Jesus, and we ask for Your divine intervention against the fraud and theft that seek to harm Your people. You are the God who sees all things, who weighs the hearts of men, and who executes justice for the oppressed. We ask that You confuse the plans of the wicked, that You frustrate their schemes, and that You surround Your children with Your angelic hosts, guarding them from every attack of the enemy. Let no weapon formed against us prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and let every tongue that rises against us in judgment be condemned. Restore what has been stolen, Lord, and bring to light what has been hidden in darkness. Protect our identities, our finances, and our peace, and let Your name be glorified as You demonstrate Your power and faithfulness.
We also pray for those who have been victims of these crimes. Comfort their hearts, Lord, and replace their fear with Your perfect peace. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Protector, and their Justice. Strengthen their faith, and let them rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
Finally, we ask that You raise up godly leaders in our governments, financial institutions, and law enforcement to enact righteous policies and pursue justice with integrity. Let Your Spirit move mightily in our land, turning the hearts of people back to You, that we may be a nation that honors Your name and walks in Your ways.
We declare these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has all authority in heaven and on earth. To Him be the glory, now and forever. Amen.
