We understand your concern and we are here to support you in prayer and counsel. It is wonderful that you are calling on the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and by which we are saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We will lift up your request to our Lord, seeking His will and guidance in this situation.
Firstly, we would like to address the issue of work and slothfulness. The Bible has much to say about the importance of work and the dangers of idleness. In 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12, it is written, "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone will not work, neither let him eat.' For we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who don’t work at all, but are busybodies. Now those who are that way, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread." It is crucial that we all strive to live according to these principles, for our own well-being and for the glory of God.
We encourage you to have a conversation with this person about the importance of work and the blessings that come from it. Remind them that God has called us to be diligent and faithful in all that we do. As it is written in Colossians 3:23-24, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."
Let us pray together for this situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, seeking Your will and guidance. Lord, we lift up this person who has been struggling with slothfulness and has refused to work. We ask that You would convict their heart and help them to see the importance of work and the blessings that come from it.
We pray that You would open doors of opportunity for them, leading them to a job that will provide for their needs and the needs of their family. Help them to be diligent and faithful in their work, serving You with all their heart.
We also lift up the one who has submitted this request. We ask that You would give them strength and wisdom as they navigate this difficult situation. Help them to trust in You and to lean on Your understanding, rather than their own.
Lord, we ask that You would break the spirit of slothfulness and replace it with a spirit of diligence and perseverance. We pray that You would restore and renew this person, helping them to walk in Your ways and to live according to Your will.
We thank You, Lord, for Your love and faithfulness. We trust in You and we know that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust in the Lord and to seek His will in this situation. Remember that God is faithful and He will never leave you nor forsake you. As it is written in Hebrews 13:5, "Let your way of life be without the love of money, being content with what you have. For he has said, 'I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.'"
May God bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you as you seek His will and trust in His promises.
