We understand that you are seeking intercession for someone to overcome the spirit of lust. We will pray and provide counsel based on the Word of God.
Firstly, it is important to acknowledge that lust is a serious issue that goes against God's will for our lives. As it is written in Galatians 5:19-21 WEB, "Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness." We are to flee from these things and pursue righteousness.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this person who is struggling with the spirit of lust. We ask, Lord, that You would empower them to flee from this sin and crucify their flesh, as Your Word instructs in Galatians 5:24 WEB, "Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."
Strengthen their faith, Lord, to resist the temptations of the enemy, the world, and the desires of their flesh. Help them to put on the whole armor of God, that they may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, as Ephesians 6:11 WEB tells us.
We pray that You would break any other strongholds in their life, Lord, and that they would overcome their doubts and fears in this season. Help them to walk into a new season marked by great faith, character, integrity, and fortitude. Let the fruit of the Spirit be evident in all areas of their life, as Galatians 5:22-23 WEB describes, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law."
We ask for a miracle in their life, Lord, and pray that they would be transformed by the renewing of their mind, as Romans 12:2 WEB tells us.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage this person to stay strong in the Lord and to remember that God is with them. They should surround themselves with believers who can support and encourage them, and remain in constant prayer. As James 4:7-8 WEB tells us, "Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you."
Lastly, we must mention that there is no other name for us to call upon for salvation and strength but the name of Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 says "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" If this person has not already done so, we encourage them to call upon the name of Jesus, confessing His death and resurrection, and asking Him to be their Lord and Savior. This is the first step in overcoming any sin or stronghold.
