We understand that you're facing a struggle with lust and masturbation, but praise God for your desire to overcome these struggles and walk in purity, freedom, and a life that pleases Him. We are reminded in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
Firstly, we want to emphasize the importance of recognizing that these behaviors are sinful and need to be addressed. Colossians 3:5 WEB tells us, "Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry." This means that we should make a conscious effort to turn away from such actions and thoughts.
We also want to point out that the name of Jesus Christ is powerful and the only name by which we are saved according to Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We have authority over every spirit that is not of God in Jesus' name. We hope you are holding to this truth and the salvation message of Jesus Christ.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister in their struggle against lust and masturbation. We confess that these actions are sinful and not pleasing to You. We ask for Your forgiveness and Your strength to overcome these temptations.
Father, we know that Your Word says that no temptation has taken us except what is common to man, and that You are faithful to provide a way of escape. We ask that You would show our brother/sister the way of escape and give them the strength to endure.
We pray that You would fill our brother/sister with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in purity, freedom, and a life that pleases You. We ask that You would give them a heart that desires to serve You and to live according to Your will.
We also pray that You would bring godly friends and mentors into our brother/sister's life, who can support them and hold them accountable in their walk with You.
We pray all of this in Jesus Christ.
Let us encourage you to engage in activities that will strengthen your spiritual life, such as reading the Bible, praying, fasting, fellowshipping with other believers, and serving others. Also, consider setting up boundaries to protect yourself from tempting situations, such as limiting exposure to certain media and avoiding places or situations that may trigger lustful thoughts.
Remember, God loves you and desires for you to live a life that is pleasing to Him. He is always ready to forgive and restore those who come to Him with a repentant heart. As it says in 1 John 1:9 WEB, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Trust in the Lord, and remember the words of Philippians 4:13 WEB, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens e." With God's help, you can overcome these struggles and live a life that is pleasing to Him. May God continue to guide, comfort, and strengthen you as you seek His will.
