Prayer request to get into a dental school this application cycle

Flittermouseburg

Disciple of Prayer
For nearly six years, I have dedicated myself to my education, working tirelessly through classes and exams while volunteering my time to provide medical and dental services to individuals experiencing homelessness. I am currently applying to dental school with the hope of one day becoming a dentist and continuing to serve my community. I submitted my applications in July, but I am still waiting to receive an interview invitation. At this point in the application cycle, many applicants have already begun interviewing, and I am growing increasingly anxious that, despite all the years of hard work, sacrifice, and dedication, I may not get the opportunity to pursue this dream next year. I would truly appreciate your prayers that I receive an interview invitation from at least one of the schools I applied to and, ultimately, that there will be a seat for me in an incoming dental class next fall. I have worked so hard to get here, and I am praying that all of these years of effort will lead to the opportunity I have been working toward.

True faith thrives despite hardship and calls you to trust God in every trial.
We join with you in prayer over this deep desire of your heart and we have heard the weight of these six years of dedication, tireless study, sacrifice, and your beautiful service to those experiencing homelessness. What you have done in volunteering to provide medical and dental care to the least of these is a reflection of the heart of Christ, for He said whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me Matthew 25:40. We see your diligence and we praise God for the compassionate calling He has placed within you to serve your community.

We understand the anxiety of waiting while others are already interviewing, and we want to encourage you to bring that anxiety fully to the Lord. We are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And also Proverbs 16:3 Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. You have worked heartily as for the Lord Colossians 3:23 and now we commit your application, your future interviews, and that hoped for seat in next fall's class into His faithful hands.

We also noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and that our prayers are heard. We pray you know this hope personally and that you will continue to seek Him first in this process.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift this dear one to You. You know every hour of study, every exam, every act of service given in love. You know the longing to become a dentist and to continue serving those in need. Lord, we ask according to Your will that You would open the door for an interview invitation, that at least one of these schools would see the gift and dedication You have placed within them. We pray that if it is Your perfect will, You would provide a seat in an incoming dental class next fall. Grant wisdom and favor with admissions committees, and let Your peace guard this heart while waiting. We trust Your plans, for You have said For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. Help our friend to rest in that promise, to commit their way to You and trust in You Psalm 37:5, knowing that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. Whether the answer is open doors this cycle or a different path and timing, may Your will be done and may You be glorified through this life and future practice. Give strength for the waiting, renewed hope each day, and a clear sense of Your leading. We ask all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust Him with this outcome, to keep praying with thanksgiving, and to rest knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. We are standing with you in prayer for good news in this application cycle.

We've been thinking about your request and the long road you've walked to get here. Six years of classes, exams, and giving your time to serve people experiencing homelessness shows real dedication and compassion, and it's understandable the waiting now feels heavy. When others seem to be moving ahead, it's natural for worry to grow.

We want you to know we are praying for you in this in-between season, for an interview invitation and for the Lord's clear direction for next fall, whatever doors He opens. We also pray for steadiness for you day by day as you wait.

One thing that has helped others in this kind of waiting is to focus on what is still within your hands. Staying engaged in the service you already love can keep your sense of purpose grounded, and it may help to connect with a trusted advisor or mentor who knows dental admissions timelines. They can help you understand where things stand and how to stay prepared if an invitation comes, so you aren't carrying all the uncertainty alone.

Father, we lift this faithful student to You. You see every hour of work and every act of care offered to others. Grant peace in the waiting, wisdom for each next step, and Your clear leading for the coming year. Guide the decisions of admissions committees and guard this heart with Your nearness. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We have heard your request and have carried it before the throne of grace with thanksgiving for the diligence and compassion the Lord has wrought in you through these six years of study and service to those experiencing homelessness.

Your anxious waiting is known to Him who sees all our days. You write that many have already received invitations while you still wait, and that fear rises that so much labour might come to nothing. Remember the word, What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee. It is not cheap faith to trust God when the way is bright, but true faith to trust Him as the sinner's Savior and the keeper of all our earthly steps while we wait upon His wisdom.

Take comfort in this, that where God begins a good work He does not leave it incomplete. Show me a world abandoned half formed, or a work of His hands left unfinished. He fashions the dust of a butterfly's wing with the same care as the mighty orbs of night, and He will perfect that which concerneth His people. He who has given you a heart to learn, to labour, and to serve the poor and needy, is able to direct your path in His perfect time. We are taught that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ, and that promise steadies the heart in seasons of suspense.

We have prayed that the Lord in His mercy would open a door for you in this application cycle, that you would receive an interview invitation from at least one of the schools to which you have applied, and that if it be His will, there would be a seat for you in an incoming class next fall to prepare you for further service as a dentist. We have prayed also that He would quiet your anxiety, sustain you with patient waiting, and keep you trusting rather than fearing, knowing that Christ will not let His own die while they wait upon Him.

May the Lord grant you peace in the waiting, strength to continue faithfully in your studies and in your ministry to the suffering, and a settled confidence that your life and your calling are in His hands. We will continue to remember you before the Lord, asking that His will be done and that you may be kept steadfast in holiness and hope until His purpose is fulfilled.

Father, humbly ask for Your power to intervene. Please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26
