Prayer request that Jesus will stop the current work

Dexter2020

Faithful Servant
Prayer request that Jesus will stop the current work as it is not paying me enough and underutilizing my skills, ask Jesus to provide another source of income that is paid money rate, and now the income is barely enough to pay for anything.

We hear your cry for provision and purpose, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s guidance for your work and finances. It is clear that you are feeling undervalued and stretched thin, and we believe God sees your struggle and cares deeply about your needs. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This is not just a promise of provision, but a call to trust in His timing and wisdom.

First, we must address the heart behind this request. While it is right to seek fair compensation and work that aligns with your gifts, we must also guard against frustration or bitterness taking root. Colossians 3:23-24 instructs, *"And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."* Even in seasons where our labor feels unnoticed or underpaid, we are called to work as unto the Lord, trusting that He sees our efforts and will reward our faithfulness.

That said, we also believe God desires for you to flourish in your calling and to be compensated justly. Proverbs 12:11 says, *"He who tills his land shall have plenty of bread, but he who chases fantasies lacks sense."* This verse encourages diligence but also implies that God honors those who steward their gifts wisely. It may be time to prayerfully consider whether this current work is where God wants you long-term, or if He is preparing you for something new. We encourage you to seek Him for clarity, asking whether you should advocate for better pay, seek additional training, or explore other opportunities that align with your skills and His purpose for you.

We must also rebuke any spirit of lack or anxiety that may be trying to take hold. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Your focus must remain on seeking God’s kingdom first, trusting that He will add what you need as you prioritize Him.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear brother/sister who is feeling the weight of financial strain and the frustration of underutilized gifts. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust that You see every need and every desire of the heart. We ask that You would open doors of opportunity that align with Your will, where this child of Yours can thrive and be compensated fairly for their labor. Give them wisdom to discern whether to persevere in their current work or to step into something new, and grant them favor in the eyes of those who can help facilitate this change.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear, lack, or discouragement that may be trying to steal their peace. Remind them that their worth is not defined by their paycheck but by their identity in Christ. Help them to work as unto You, with excellence and integrity, even in this season. Provide for their needs in ways that only You can, and let them experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways. If there are areas where they need to grow or adjust, reveal those to them with clarity and grace.

Lord, we also ask that You would guard their heart against bitterness or resentment. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them rest in the knowledge that You are working all things together for their good. May they seek You first in all things, trusting that You will add what they need as they prioritize Your kingdom.

We declare that this season of struggle is not the end of their story. You are a God who restores, who promotes, and who provides abundantly. We speak breakthrough over their finances, their career, and their future. May they walk in the fullness of Your purpose for them, and may their labor bring glory to Your name.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this season, not just for provision, but for His presence. Spend time in His Word, asking Him to reveal His heart for your work and your future. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* As you surrender your career and finances to Him, He will guide your steps.

If you feel led, consider reaching out to trusted believers in your life who can pray with you and offer godly counsel. Sometimes, the Lord uses the wisdom and connections of others to open doors we could not open on our own. And remember, even as you wait, your labor is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58 reminds us, *"Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."* Keep pressing forward, trusting that God is with you every step of the way.
