We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious life and the mother carrying this child. Father God, we know that You are the Author of life, the One who knits each of us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-16). You see this baby even when the world cannot, and we ask for Your divine intervention. Lord, we believe in Your power to perform miracles, for nothing is impossible with You (Luke 1:37). We pray that in this waiting period, You would stir the heartbeat of this little one to life, that the next scan would reveal the rhythm of life You have ordained.
Father, we also lift up this mother’s heart, which is tender and grieving. The pain of uncertainty and the weight of this moment are heavy, but we know You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Strengthen her faith, Lord, and remind her that this child was fearfully and wonderfully made in Your eyes. Even in the waiting, help her to trust in Your sovereignty and Your perfect plan, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Comfort her with the hope of Your promises, and let her find peace in Your presence.
We must also address the worldly perspective that was offered so quickly—the suggestion of medication to end this life. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and hopelessness that seeks to rush decisions when You call us to wait on You. We declare that life is sacred, and every child is a gift from You (Jeremiah 1:5). We pray that this mother and her family would stand firm in their faith, resisting the pressure to take matters into their own hands when You are still at work.
Lord, we know that Christmas will be difficult this year, but we ask that You would fill this season with Your peace and presence. May the truth of Immanuel—God with us—be a comfort to her, reminding her that You are near in every moment of joy and sorrow. We pray that if it is Your will, this child would be born healthy and whole, a living testimony to Your glory. But if not, we trust You to hold this little one in Your arms and to heal this mother’s heart in time.
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who conquered death and offers us eternal hope. Without His name, there is no access to You, Father, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). We stand on His promises and declare that this child is known and loved by You. Amen.
