We join with you in seeking the Lord’s presence and power in your life, and we are grateful that you have begun your prayer in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Your hunger for the Holy Spirit is a beautiful and necessary desire for every believer, for Jesus Himself told us in John 16:7, *"Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you."* The Holy Spirit is our Comforter, Teacher, and Guide, and He equips us with gifts for the building up of the body of Christ and the advancement of God’s kingdom.
We also recall the words of the apostle Paul in Ephesians 5:18, *"Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit."* To be filled with the Spirit is not a one-time event but a continual surrender to His leading in our lives. It is a daily walk of obedience, repentance, and faith. As you seek to be filled with the Spirit, we encourage you to also seek the fruits of the Spirit, which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). These are the evidence of a life submitted to God.
We also want to remind you that the gifts of the Spirit are given not for our own glory but for the edification of the church and the testimony of Christ to the world. 1 Corinthians 12:7 tells us, *"But to each one is given the revelation of the Spirit for the profit of all."* As you seek the gifts of the Spirit, ask the Lord how He would have you use them to serve others and bring honor to His name.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister in ###, ###, before Your throne of grace. We thank You for their heart’s cry to be filled with Your Holy Spirit, for it is a desire that aligns with Your will. Lord, we ask that You would indeed pour out Your Spirit upon them in fresh and powerful ways. Fill every part of their being—spirit, soul, and body—with Your presence, Your gifts, and Your power. May they walk in the fullness of what You have called them to, equipped and empowered to live a life that glorifies You.
Father, we pray that as they seek Your gifts, You would also cultivate in them the fruits of the Spirit, that their life would be a testament to Your transformative work. Give them discernment to use every gift You bestow for Your kingdom and not for their own ambition. Let them be a vessel of Your love, grace, and truth to those around them in ### and beyond.
We rebuke any spirit of distraction, doubt, or fear that would seek to hinder their walk with You. Let them be rooted and grounded in Your Word, growing ever deeper in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Remind them that apart from Him, they can do nothing (John 15:5), but in Him, they can bear much fruit.
We also pray for the people of ###, that Your Spirit would move mightily across that nation. Raise up believers who are bold in their faith, unashamed of the Gospel, and committed to seeing Your kingdom come in their cities and villages. Protect Your church there from the schemes of the enemy, and let Your light shine brightly in the darkness.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would open doors for our brother/sister to be a witness for Christ in their daily life. Give them opportunities to share the hope they have in Jesus, and let many come to know Him as their Lord and Savior through their testimony.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
