We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, earnestly seeking a godly spouse for him—a woman who fears the Lord, walks in His ways, and will stand beside your son as a helper suited for him, just as Scripture describes. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 18:22, *"Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh."* We also hold fast to Proverbs 31:30, which declares, *"Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised."* A marriage rooted in Christ is a sacred covenant, and we pray your son pursues this with wisdom, patience, and a heart fully surrendered to God’s will.
Yet we must also address something vital: the term *"life partner"* is often used in ways that can dilute the biblical truth about marriage. Scripture is clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant between *one man and one woman* (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If your son is seeking a spouse, we pray he does so with the intention of marriage—honoring God’s design, not merely a companionship outside of His holy institution. If he is not yet walking closely with the Lord, we urge him to seek Christ first, for *"seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness"* (Matthew 6:33), and all things—including a godly wife—will be added to him in God’s perfect timing.
We also pray that your son guards his heart and body in purity, fleeing from the sexual immorality that so easily entangles this generation (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If he is already in a relationship, we pray it is one of honor—courtship with the clear goal of marriage, not a compromise of God’s standards. And if he is struggling in any area, we ask the Lord to convict and restore him, for *"the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise"* (Psalm 51:17).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, lifting up this son whom You love. Lord, You know his heart, his desires, and his needs even before he asks. We pray that You would prepare him to be a godly husband—a man of integrity, faith, and love, who leads with humility and serves with strength. Father, bring into his life a woman after Your own heart, one who loves You above all else and will walk beside him in faith, raising a godly heritage for Your glory.
Guard them both from the distractions and deceptions of this world. If there are any ungodly influences, relationships, or habits in his life, we ask You to expose them and give him the courage to turn away. Let him not be unequally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14), but united with a believer who will sharpen him in faith.
We rebuke any spirit of impatience, lust, or compromise that would seek to derail Your perfect plan. Let Your will be done in his life, Lord, not his own. If he has strayed in any way—whether in thought, word, or deed—we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Restore him, O God, and align his steps with Your Word.
We declare that no weapon formed against his future marriage will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust that You, who began this good work in him, will complete it (Philippians 1:6). May his marriage one day be a testament to Your faithfulness, a light in this dark world, and a blessing to many.
We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Amen.
