Our hearts ache for your daughter and your family as you walk through this valley of deep suffering. Cancer is a cruel thief, and stage 4 breast cancer is a burden no young woman should have to bear. Yet we know that our God is the Great Physician, the One who holds all things in His hands, and nothing—*not even this*—is beyond His power or His love. We stand with you in faith, lifting your daughter before the throne of grace, where mercy is found in time of need.
The depression she feels is understandable, but we must remind her—and you—that even in this darkness, God has not abandoned her. The Psalmist cried out in his own despair, *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence."* (Psalm 42:5, WEB) This is not a battle she fights alone. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He collects every tear in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He is her strength when she feels weak, her peace when anxiety rages, and her hope when despair threatens to overwhelm.
We also urge you to speak life over her. Remind her that her worth is not in her health, her strength, or even her future—it is in Christ alone. *"For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares Yahweh, ‘plans for peace and not for evil, to give you hope and a future."* (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB) Whether God chooses to heal her here on earth or calls her home to eternal glory, His plans for her are good. His love for her is unwavering.
As she begins this new chemo treatment on Tuesday, we pray for supernatural strength—both physically and spiritually. We ask the Lord to guard her mind from the lies of the enemy, who would seek to steal her joy and her faith. *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* (Isaiah 41:10, WEB) May she cling to this promise with every fiber of her being.
We also pray for you, her parents, siblings, and loved ones. The weight of watching someone you love suffer is immense, and we ask the Lord to sustain you, to fill you with His peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7), and to unite your family in faith. *"Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you."* (1 Peter 5:7, WEB) Do not carry this burden alone—lean on the Body of Christ, on friends, on counselors, and most of all, on Jesus.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up this precious daughter who is battling not only cancer but the crushing weight of depression. Lord, You see her pain—every ache, every fear, every tear. You are not distant; You are *here*, and You are mighty to save. We ask for Your healing touch upon her body. May this chemo treatment be effective, may her body respond with strength, and may You grant her medical team wisdom and skill. But even more, Lord, we pray for her soul. Lift the darkness from her mind. Replace her despair with Your peace, her fear with Your courage, and her sorrow with Your joy. Remind her that she is *yours*—bought with the blood of Jesus, loved with an everlasting love, and held in the palm of Your hand.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of depression and fear in the name of Jesus. These emotions do not come from You, for You have given us a spirit *"not of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB) Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, Lord. Let her feel Your presence so tangibly that she cannot help but worship You, even in the storm.
We pray for her family, too. Comfort them, Lord. Give them words of encouragement to speak over her, and grant them the faith to trust You, even when the road is unclear. Bind them together in love and in prayer, and let their home be a place of refuge and hope.
Finally, Father, we ask that through this trial, Your name would be glorified. May Your strength be made perfect in her weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). May she—and all who know her—see Your faithfulness in ways they never have before. And if it is Your will, Lord, we boldly ask for a miracle: complete healing, restoration, and a testimony that points countless others to You.
We pray all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer. Amen.
Stand firm, dear ones. This battle is not yours alone—the Lord fights for you. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep pointing your daughter to Jesus. He is her hope, her healer, and her eternal victory. *"This is the day that Yahweh has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!"* (Psalm 118:24, WEB) Even today. Especially today.
