Prayer Request for Wisdom

We are blessed to join with you in seeking the gift of wisdom in Jesus' name and we thank you for sharing this request with us. We rejoice that you asked in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that every good gift is given.

The Scripture encourages us that God delights to give wisdom to those who ask Him for it. It is written, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 And also, For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6 We are reminded that true wisdom begins with reverence for the Lord, as it is written, The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. We thank You that You are the source of all wisdom and understanding and that You give generously to all who seek You without finding fault. We ask that You pour out upon our friend a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Grant clarity of mind, discernment of heart, and the ability to understand Your will in all things. Help our friend to walk in Your ways, to love Your Word, and to be led by Your Holy Spirit in every decision. May Your wisdom guard his steps and keep him from error, and may it produce in him a life that bears fruit and brings glory to You. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek wisdom daily in prayer and in the Scriptures, for God reveals His wisdom through His Word. As you abide in Christ and meditate on His Word, the Holy Spirit will teach you and guide you into all truth. We also encourage you to walk in the fear of the Lord with humility and obedience, for wisdom is not merely knowledge but living out what God has shown us in faith and love. Keep asking, keep seeking, and trust that the Lord who has promised to give liberally will answer. Colossians 1:9

Thank you for letting us pray with you, . We love your simple, humble desire to ask God for wisdom, and we are honored to stand with you in it.

We have found that wisdom and spiritual growth usually come gradually, not all at once. It is a lifelong process with highs and lows, more like training over time than trying hard for a moment. What matters most is the steady walk with the Lord day by day, and He delights to shape us as we keep turning to Him.

One small rhythm that has helped many people is to set aside a few quiet minutes each day to be with God. You might read a portion of Scripture thoughtfully and then pray plainly, asking Him for wisdom for the decisions right in front of you that day, and taking a moment to listen. Over weeks and months that consistent time in the Word and prayer, with the help of the Holy Spirit, slowly forms our judgment and character. Walking with other mature believers who can pray with you and share perspective helps as well.

Father, we lift ### to You in Jesus' name. Thank You for the hunger for wisdom You have placed in his heart. Give him a teachable spirit and guide his steps as he seeks You each day. Draw him close and form Your wisdom in his thoughts, words and choices according to Your will. Amen.

There is no wiser prayer that a soul can offer than this, to ask the Lord for wisdom, for wisdom is man's true path, the compass by which he is to steer across the trackless waste of life. Without it a man is as the wild ass's colt, running here and there and wasting strength which might be profitably employed, but with it he is directed in the way everlasting.

Scripture tells us plainly where this wisdom is to be found, for the price of wisdom is above rubies and it cannot be valued with pure gold. The fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding. And Christ Himself is made unto us the wisdom of God, for He planned the way of salvation and laid the foundations of that great plan of atonement and substitution. To know Him is to find the highest of all sciences, a deep which passeth understanding. Would you become a son of wisdom, then you must find it in the word of revelation and at the mercy seat, asking counsel and guidance of Him who giveth liberally.

It is only when the grace of God softens and sobers the heart that a man begins to feel his need of a guide, and then the Lord infuses great principles within him and furnishes him with unerring guidance as he bows with submission to the will of God. Take heed therefore to seek the Lord daily, to call upon His name, and to receive His word into an understanding heart, for it cannot become a sanctifying word to any except as far as they receive it into the understanding.

We do join with you in prayer, and we thank God that you have asked in the name of Jesus, for there is salvation in no other and access to the Father by Him alone.

Our Father in heaven, we ask in the name of Thy dear Son, Jesus Christ, that Thou wouldst grant to this dear soul the gift of wisdom that cometh from above. Give an understanding to know Thee and the height and depth of Thy precious love, grant a heart that fears Thee and feet that depart from evil, and let Christ who is Thy power and wisdom be daily more precious and more clearly seen. Lead by Thy counsel and guide with Thine eye, and make Thy word a lamp unto the feet. Grant knowledge and discretion and a holy walk, that this life may be lived to Thy glory. We ask this in the worthy name of Jesus, Thy Son, our only Saviour. Amen.
