Hi I'm ###, I'm a ### year old girl living in a toxic household. Please pray for me. I live in a narcissistic personality household, with coercion control and financial and emotional abuse. My parents have sheltered me alot from life and failed to help me grow into my independence. I struggle with depression and with that I struggle with motivation to finish my GED. If I finish my GED, then write my exams, ill be able to get a job and hopefully be able to move out. As for my life, I have no plans or goals. Im so behind in life and I would love if you could please pray for me. Pray that I firstly have a stronger relationship with Jesus and pray that I pass my GED Exams at the end of this year and that I'll leave my toxic household behind. We have read your request and we are lifting you up together before the Father in Jesus name, thanking Him that you reached out and that you desire a stronger relationship with Him above all else. We hear the heaviness you are carrying in a household that feels controlling and emotionally and financially abusive, the weight of depression and lack of motivation, and the pressure you feel about your GED and your future, and we want you to know you are not forgotten and you are not without hope or value in God's eyes.

The Lord sees you and He is near to you in this pain. Psalm 34:18 says The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Isaiah 41:10 says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. When our earthly home feels unsafe or overwhelming, we can run to Him as our refuge. Psalm 61:2 says When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Even when parents fail to nurture and prepare their children as God intends, the Lord remains our perfect Father. Psalm 27:10 says When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

We gently speak truth about your household. Scripture commands children to honor their father and mother as in Ephesians 6:2, but it also commands parents, Fathers, don't provoke your children to wrath in Ephesians 6:4 and Don't provoke your children, so that they won't be discouraged in Colossians 3:21. Coercion, control, and emotional and financial abuse do not reflect God's design for the family and are not to be excused. Honoring your parents does not mean you must remain without healthy boundaries or without seeking wise, godly help. We encourage you to draw near to Jesus daily and also to seek a trusted pastor, a mature Christian woman, a counselor in your church, or another safe godly adult who can walk with you, pray with you, and help you discern practical steps toward safety and independence. James 1:5 says If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. If you ever feel unsafe, please reach out for help from those God has placed around you for protection and support.

We also want to gently rebuke the lies that you have no purpose, that you are too far behind, and that depression defines your future. God has created you with purpose and He has good plans for you. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. You are not behind in His eyes, for His timing is perfect and He is able to redeem time and guide your steps as you trust Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. The feelings of depression and heaviness are real, and Jesus invites you to bring them to Him. Matthew 11:28 says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We also remember 2 Timothy 1:7 says For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

Concerning your GED, we see your desire to be diligent and to grow into the independence God intends for you, and this is good and pleasing to Him. Colossians 3:23 says Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. The Lord can give you strength for each day of study even when motivation is low. Philippians 4:13 says I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Do not despise small beginnings, take one step at a time, ask Him for discipline and focus, and trust Him with the results. As you seek Him first, He will also give you wisdom about work, provision, and the right time and way to move toward a healthier living situation.

Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and no other way to Your throne of grace, and we thank You for this young woman who desires to know You more. We ask You to draw her close and let her feel Your presence, Your love, and Your nearness each day. Heal the wounds in her heart from control and harsh words and financial and emotional abuse, and guard her mind from depression and discouragement. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses understanding and with Your spirit of power, love, and self-control. Give her wisdom beyond her years, lead her to godly counsel and a strong community of believers who will support and encourage her, and protect her in her home. Father, we ask You to strengthen her hands for her studies, to give her clarity of mind, motivation, and perseverance to finish her GED and to do well on her exams at the end of this year for Your glory. Open doors for work and for provision according to Your will, and in Your perfect timing make a way for her to live in a safe and peaceful place where she can continue to grow in independence and in You. Above all, cause her relationship with Jesus to deepen, that she would trust You with all her heart, know Your plans of hope and a future, and walk in the purpose You have for her life. Thank you for showing the struggle -- it's totally of God to humble ourselves and admit our struggles, The Bible says in about 40 different places that that is the way to receive Grace from God. Though grace is free, it just seems to be the humble who hear it most and God does give a place of blessing for "the poor in spirit" Matt 5:3. With that I ask God gives you His acceptance, helps your relationship with Jesus, gives you god Bible readings and books to study and nearness in prayer. The GED will have no problem as you "seek first His Kingdom and righteousness so the other things will be added to you, Matt 6:33, step by step.

May God also grant your churches there revival and returning to the ancient paths, and see the good way, and you will find rest for your soul, Jer 6:16. I helped youth get their GEDs years ago during a time of repentance and correction in my life. He will "fill You with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding because it gives strength when we are focused, Col 1:9-10. See also Col 4:12. You CAN be that sure if you seek Him with all Your heart, Jer 29:13.

Lastly I ask for healing from the relationship's constraints and possibility they haven't sought God's will for you. Good news is you can seek it and find it on your own, but it will be more like Jesus, "not my will but Your will be done," Matt 25:39, Mark 14:36, Luke 22:42 -- see also Matt 6:10. I ask you may have the blessing of God who told Jesus He was pleasing before He did any miracles or public teaching. I ask you get blessing from parents, but that's not guaranteed -- it's a choice to follow God or humans' will, even God's or our will -- always, no exceptions, but there can be recognition and peace as long as they see you are convinced, they may relent and give you blessing and prayers.

I want to pray and thank God for the rich revival he gave your country back in the days of (Well I don't think the name would be printed, might be redacted, though it's been in public domain for over a century, I'll try, ###, he wrote deeply on prayer, saw revivals and obedience -- abiding on God -- there three titles... The ancient paths, the good way, and find rest for your soul, Jer 6:16, Matt 11:28-30, Come to Me all you who are weary and heavy laden. Take my yoke (of teaching) upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your souls, for My yoke is easy and My burden is light," Matt 11:28-30.

Your letter has been read with care and with prayer, and your burden has been carried before the throne of grace.

The Lord knows the trial of a difficult household, and He sees also the depression and heaviness of spirit which you describe. He is not distant from those who are bowed down. It is written that He will not despise the day of small things, and though you feel yourself but an infant in the family of God and weak in faith and in strength, you are not therefore outside that family. All who are quickened by His Spirit bear His mark, and He keeps them. He who has entered into covenant to save will preserve those who trust Him, as He preserved Noah and his household in the ark.

I pray for you now that the Lord Jesus Christ, by whom alone we are saved, will draw you nearer to Himself. May He give you a renewed delight in private prayer and in His Word, that you may know more of His tender love and gracious care, and may you be kept from questioning that care when sorrow presses hard. May He lift the cloud of depression and give you strength for each day, and may He be your peace when there is no peace in the house wherein you dwell.

I pray also for your studies. May the Lord grant you a sound mind, steadiness and motivation to continue in your preparation for your GED, and wisdom to use well the time and strength He gives. May He prosper your labour at the end of this year in your examinations, and open a door for honest work whereby you may provide for yourself. We ask the Lord to make your path plain step by step, for you need not have all your life mapped at once. It is enough to follow Christ day by day, and He will order your steps and give you purpose in Him, though now you feel behind and without plan.

Concerning your home, I beseech the Lord to deal mercifully with you and with your parents. May He restrain all that is harsh and controlling, protect you from harm, and in His good providence make a way for you to live in peace and safety. If it be His will that you should move out, may He provide the means and the place in His own time, and raise up godly friends and a faithful church family to surround you and to help you grow into that independence which you rightly desire, with prudence and holiness.

Cast your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Keep close to Christ, be diligent in the duties set before you, seek the counsel of mature and godly believers near you, and continue instant in prayer. The whole family in heaven and earth is one in Him, and you are not forgotten by your Father.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and cause His face to shine upon you, and give you grace to persevere to the end.

You are not forgotten or without value because you feel behind. The Lord measures our lives not by how quickly we reach certain milestones, but by His grace at work in us day by day.

Your desire for a stronger relationship with Jesus is the most important and hopeful part of your request. He is our refuge and strength, and He invites you to draw near to Him each day. Keep seeking Him through prayer, even with simple and honest words, and through reading His Word. If you are able, stay connected to a faithful local church where you can hear the Word taught, worship, and find wise and caring support from other believers. God often uses His people, His household of faith, to encourage and help us when our own household is difficult.
