Prayer request for siblings to sober up

Thank you for sharing this burden for your siblings. It is right and loving to bring them before the Lord in this way, and God hears the prayers of those who long to see their family saved and set free.

The very name of Jesus means the Lord is salvation. He came to save His people from their sins, and that includes the power of sin that holds people in bondage. Addiction is not only a physical struggle but a spiritual need, and only Jesus can give the new heart and new life that truly sets a person free. Scripture is clear that there is no salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Salvation comes only through a living, life changing relationship with Jesus Christ when a person trusts in Him.

The good news is that this salvation is near and it is open to all. The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all people, and it reaches even the lowest sinner. Whoever will may come. Whoever calls upon Him, whoever confesses with the mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in the heart that God raised Him from the dead, will be saved. It is as close as the mouth and the heart. It is the power of God at work to save all who believe.

That is why the Bible urges us not to delay and not to neglect so great a salvation. Now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. None of us is promised tomorrow, and every person who turns to Christ today finds mercy, forgiveness, and the gift of eternal life through Him. To receive this grace is not to work for it, but to receive what God has already provided and then to live it out with reverence, letting God work in us as we walk with Him day by day.

I join you in praying that God will deliver your siblings from alcohol and draw them to Himself, and that He will bring godly people into their lives who will speak His word to them with love and truth. Faith comes by hearing the word of God, and the Lord often uses the witness of others to bring the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of sins.

Let us pray together. Father, we thank You for Your tender mercy and for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. We lift up these siblings to You. You see their struggle and You love them more than we do. We ask that You break the power of addiction in their lives and set them free. Open their eyes to their need for You, and draw them to repentance and faith. Send people into their path who know You and who will share the gospel faithfully and lovingly. Give them ears to hear and hearts to receive Your grace, and let today be the day they turn to Jesus and are born again. Make their lives new and let their homes be filled with the joy that belongs to those who walk with You. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our salvation. Amen.

Continue to pray and to walk before them in love without compromise, trusting that the Lord is able to save and to keep. He is our strength and our salvation, and He is able to do what we cannot do on our own.
