Your request for prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing you, your family, and the congregation before the Lord for His protection and guidance.
We pray for divine protection over you and your household from evil, from nightmares and every form of spiritual attack. Scripture teaches that the fear of the Lord is to hate evil and to turn away from it, and that when we fear Him and depart from evil there is health and strength for our lives. Wisdom itself will keep and deliver you. Do not walk in the way of those who do evil, but avoid it, turn from it and pass on. The enemy cannot rest unless he causes harm, but the Lord watches over His own. We ask that Christ, in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden, would be your covering by day and by night, that He would guard your sleep, quiet your dreams, and scatter every attack that comes against you and your family. Trust not in your own understanding, but fear the Lord and lean on Him.
We also pray for wisdom as you lead the church. The Scriptures urge us to seek wisdom as diligently as one would search for silver or hidden treasure, because it is the Lord who gives wisdom and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He stores up sound wisdom for those who walk uprightly. Like Solomon, who asked not for riches or honor but for wisdom to shepherd God's people, and whose request pleased the Lord, ask the Lord for wisdom and He will give it generously. A true search for wisdom leads to God Himself, to the fear of the Lord and the knowledge of God. That wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, and it does not lead to envy, strife and confusion like the wisdom of this world, which is earthly and empty. The world by its own wisdom did not know God, but God reveals Himself to those who seek Him. We pray that He will grant you pure, heavenly wisdom to lead with discernment, to know how to go in and out before the people, and to direct the church according to His Word.
We pray too for the growth of the church. The church belongs to God, not to any man, and true growth comes not from human wisdom or clever plans but from God reaching down to us in grace. His grace is His beauty given to the undeserving, and His peace guards His people. We ask that every environmental attack and every influence of evil that would lodge itself in the branches or spread like leaven would be scattered and have no place among you. May the Lord keep the congregation in love and in truth, rooted in His Word, and cause it to grow in a healthy way that honors Him.
