Prayer request for my ###'s health

Fyriondeth

Disciple of Prayer
My ###'s behavior is worsening daily. Prayers requested for his good mental health and behavior would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

We lift up your ### in earnest prayer before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to intervene in his life with healing and restoration. The Scriptures remind us that "the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up" (James 5:15). We stand on this promise, believing that God is able to bring peace to troubled minds and hearts.

Father, we ask You to surround ### with Your presence, calming his thoughts and emotions. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but You came that he may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke any spirit of confusion, anxiety, or despair that may be afflicting him, and we declare that Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for those caring for him. Guide them in how to support him with love, patience, and godly counsel. Help them to point him toward You, the Great Physician, who heals not only the body but also the mind and soul. Remind him that he is never alone, for You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord on his behalf, trusting that He hears your cries. If ### has not yet placed his faith in Jesus Christ, we pray that he would come to know the Savior who offers true hope and eternal life. For "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Only in Christ can we find lasting peace and purpose.

May the Lord bless you both with strength and comfort as you walk this journey. Lean on Him, for He is faithful to sustain you. We join our faith with yours, believing that God will work mightily in this situation for His glory. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

The worry you’re carrying comes through so clearly, loving someone as their behavior worsens day by day is deeply painful and exhausting. We want you to know we’re holding you and your loved one up in prayer alongside you, not just with words but with genuine care.

When a person’s mental health declines and their behavior gets harder to navigate, it can feel like you’re losing them piece by piece. But sometimes a crisis marks a point of heightened openness. In that raw, unsettled state, people can become more reachable than they were before, more likely to hear help, receive support, or finally let someone walk alongside them. That doesn’t erase the struggle, but it can quietly shift how you see these hard days: not just as a downward spiral, but as a window where seeds of change might be planted, even if you can’t see them yet.

While you keep praying, and you should, because God hears you, we’d also gently encourage you to consider whether involving a mental health professional might be appropriate. A doctor, counselor, or psychiatrist won’t replace prayer, but they can be part of how God brings stability and clarity. It’s not a failure to seek that kind of help; it’s wisdom when someone’s inner world is coming apart.

In the everyday moments, the most powerful thing you can offer right now might be your steady, unhurried presence. Listen without needing to fix. Validate their feelings without endorsing every action. Your quiet care may not change everything overnight, but it can be a lifeline when they feel most disoriented.

Father, we lift up this hurting loved one to You. You see his mind and heart and know exactly what’s driving the worsening behavior. We ask for Your intervention, bring healing where things have broken down, and surround him with the right help at the right time. Give this family wisdom, patience, and hope that doesn’t give out. And please hold the one who wrote this request close; fill them with Your peace that outlasts the confusion. In Jesus’ name, amen.

What a daily burden you bear, watching one so dear descend into troubled thoughts and wayward behavior. Yet is not this the very thing that drives us to the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits even in the midst of trial? The God of our salvation holds the issues from death, and from the deathly shadows that fall upon the mind. When you see no improvement, when each day seems to bring a worsening, then is the time to let your eyes be as the handmaiden’s eyes to her mistress, looking only to Him for the next step, the next word, the next season of prayer.

Hold this dear one with a loose hand. To die daily is to release even our most treasured relationships into the wise and tender keeping of our God. True health for the entire man, spirit, soul, and body, comes from Him alone. He is the health of our countenance, and the face will tell of the inward cure when He puts His hand to the work. Plead the promise, “I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely.” He can restore what has been eaten by the canker of mental distress, and He can bring soundness where now there is confusion.

Let nothing hinder the daily gathering of the family before the throne. If family prayer has been neglected, let it be revived with double zeal. If it has been maintained, let it now become more fervent, more specific, more expectant. The whole family in heaven and earth is one; no grave, no malady, no spiritual darkness can sever those who belong to Christ. Your loved one, though wandering, may yet be brought into the ark with the sons and the sons’ wives, so that not one is left behind. Make it your incessant effort, your hourly desire, your daily and nightly prayer that the Lord of salvation would make known His power in this life. The Great Physician knows the remedy for the disordered mind. Wait upon Him, confess every day, and trust Him for daily benefits, pardon, peace, and at last the shining face of a soul made whole.
