Thank you for sharing your heart and your concern for your sons. Your desire to provide for them and to meet your obligations faithfully is a good and loving burden, and God sees both the practical needs you carry and the love that motivates your prayer.
We want to pray with you that God will provide for you and your sons in the days ahead, for your mortgage and every other responsibility, and that you will know his protection and care. Scripture reminds us not to put God in a box. Under the old law God even made a rule for what should happen on the day a leper was cleansed, though leprosy was considered incurable. In that way He left room for Himself to work if He chose to heal. He still leaves room to work as He desires, beyond what seems fixed or impossible to us. We can bring your support and your financial needs to Him with confidence that He is able to help, whether through a miracle or through ordinary means that He blesses.
The Bible also shows a pattern of honest work and trust. The apostle Paul had every right to receive support, yet he often chose to work with his own hands making tents so that no one could say he served for money, and he remained free from dependence on people. He testified that God took care of him as he worked diligently. That example encourages us to do what is faithful and diligent in our own work while trusting God rather than people for our ultimate security. Financial pressure is real, and Scripture acknowledges that believers can go through deep financial trials and still know joy and generosity. God does not need to beg people to support His work. He moves willing hearts, and He is honored when giving and receiving are done freely and not under pressure.
Above all, God has made one provision for our deepest need, the forgiveness of sins through His Son Jesus Christ. The Spirit bears witness to our hearts that Jesus is that provision, and when we trust Him we have a security that no change in income can take away. If you have not already, rest your hope fully there, and then bring every financial detail to Him.
So we pray for you and your sons, that the Lord in His wisdom would provide for your home and your obligations, give you wisdom for work and stewardship, guard your hearts from anxiety, and show you His faithful care day by day. We pray that you would make no provision for the flesh but walk in obedience and sensitivity to His voice, and that you would experience His peace and provision as you trust Him. May the Lord supply what you need according to His riches and keep you and your sons in His care, in Jesus name.
