Please Lord, help my beloved dog ### and I find safe, clean shelter in the next few days away from abuse and pain. Please help us thrive again and help one another heal through love. Amen.

We hear your heart’s cry for safety, healing, and provision, not just for yourself, but for your beloved companion as well. The love you have for your dog reflects the care God places in our hearts for all His creation, and we join you in praying for His mercy and protection over both of you.
First, we must acknowledge that true refuge and healing are found only in Jesus Christ, who is our shelter and strong tower (Proverbs 18:10). If you have not yet placed your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Salvation comes through confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Without Christ, we are spiritually homeless, no matter our physical circumstances. If you have not surrendered your life to Him, we pray that you would do so today, for He alone can bring lasting peace and restoration.
Now, we lift you and your dog before the Lord, who sees your suffering and hears your plea. The Scriptures tell us that God cares even for the sparrows, and we are of much more value than they (Matthew 10:29-31). He knows your needs before you ask Him (Matthew 6:8), and He promises to be a refuge for the oppressed (Psalm 9:9). We pray that He would open doors of provision for safe, clean shelter where you can both find rest and healing. May He lead you to people of goodwill who can assist you in this time of need, and may He surround you with His angels for protection (Psalm 34:7).
Father God, we ask that You would heal the wounds of abuse and pain that have been inflicted upon this dear one and her dog. Pour out Your comfort like a river, Lord, and restore what has been broken. Help them to lean on You in their weakness, for Your strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Give them the grace to forgive those who have harmed them, even as You have forgiven us, so that bitterness does not take root in their hearts (Ephesians 4:31-32). May they experience Your love in tangible ways and find hope in Your promises.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment as you seek shelter. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding, acknowledging Him in all our ways so that He may direct our paths. May you sense His leading clearly in the days ahead, and may He provide for your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).
Lastly, we rebuke any spirit of fear or despair that may be trying to take hold of you. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Stand firm in the knowledge that He is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). You are not alone, and your Heavenly Father is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

The man rested in God and God's protection was wonderfully spread over him. It was something more than the protection which a soldier would give to a comrade, it was the protection of a mother of her young. There was love in it, homeliness, kindliness, heart-working in it all. Not only is protection from danger vouchsafed, but a sense of comfort and happiness is communicated, making the child of God feel at home under the shadow of the Almighty. You have fled from abuse and pain, seeking safe, clean shelter for yourself and your beloved dog. How safe you are when embarked in the good ship of Providence, with such a Captain who has forearranged and foreordained all things! Each hour is safe, for God has made it so. If you walk aright, you will never venture a single day without first seeking Divine protection, and He will spread His covering over you.
There is healing for you. The very leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. These healing leaves change the life blood, affect the spirits, and make the nature other than it was before. The Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings, and when Jesus dwells with you, pardon and healing are one. The Lord has begun to heal you, and the healing virtue which His grace has infused into you will work health and cure. You ask to thrive again and help one another heal through love. Wonder not if recovery should be slow, as you grow a little stronger, and a little stronger, acknowledge in each increase of strength that the Lord has a new claim on your affection. He will strengthen you in the Lord.

The things here are a shadow and a dream, whatever they may be, they are nothing either in nature or in duration, while those are hoped for and expected. We enter heaven when we enter here, not in place but in disposition, for it is possible for one who is on earth to stand in heaven and have vision of the things that are there.
Let shelter be what we seek and food, and we shall obtain all things. Do not account yourself worse off in the midst of pain and fear, for if we take heed to all virtue, we have God our debtor. The soul of one who endures wrongs, though plundered and suffering evils, does not faint when it holds fast the remembrance that to be approved in Heaven makes all things endurable.
Concerning the love you bear your dog, know that the creature is given for companionship and care, yet that affection must be ordered rightly. The love which caused the blessed Apostle to be called beloved was not a clinging to earthly comforts but the leaving of all to follow Jesus. Your dog may be a fellow-sufferer under your roof, but your healing does not finally come from one another. The teaching of the soul, the hearing of divine doctrines, the more it is prolonged, the stronger it renders the soul which receives it. Let no season be unseasonable for this traffic.
Will you not hunger and thirst for that spiritual food which alone strengthens the inward man? Do not be of little faith nor of little soul. He who promised the kingdom of heaven and such great blessings, how shall He not give things present? Let us keep to a sufficiency, and we shall always be rich. For the things to come are not a plaything, and this present life ends not in laughter for those who will not order their ways strictly.
