We have heard your cry and we are lifting you up before the throne of grace together in Jesus name, asking for God's healing and comfort over the deep wounds of betrayal, lies, cheating, broken promises and mental and emotional abuse that you have endured. Our hearts ache with you, and we want you to know that God sees every tear and every hurt that has been inflicted upon you. He is close to the brokenhearted and He longs to heal you. Psalm 34:18 says The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. When your heart is overwhelmed within you, we pray you will cry out as in Psalm 61:2, When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
We want to speak truth in love about what you have suffered, because God calls sin what it is and He also offers healing from it. Lying, cheating, betrayal and breaking promises are sin before God, and mental and emotional abuse is evil and never reflects His design for love. The Lord hates lying lips and unfaithfulness, for the devil is the father of lies as told in John 8:44. Sexual immorality, which includes cheating and any sex before or outside of marriage, is called fornication and adultery in scripture and we are commanded to flee from it. 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. If sexual sin occurred in this relationship, whether by being sinned against through cheating or by participating in sex outside of marriage, we urge you to bring it to the Lord in repentance and receive His forgiveness, for 1 John 1:9 says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We also rebuke the abuse you endured, for love as God defines it is patient and kind, does not dishonor, and does not abuse or tear down, as shown in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. No one should remain in or return to a relationship where they are being mentally and emotionally abused, and we encourage you to seek godly counsel, safe boundaries, and support from mature believers and trusted pastors as you heal.
We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as outlined in the Bible, and we encourage that any relationship between a man and a woman be approached as courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, not as a casual partnership. We pray that as God heals you, He will guard your heart, as Proverbs 4:23 says Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life, and that you will not rush into another relationship but will wait on the Lord's timing for a godly spouse who will honor God and honor you in a Christ centered marriage, if it is His will for your life. 2 Corinthians 6:14 reminds us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for true unity is found when both are walking with Christ.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and it is only through Him that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To be saved we must believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died for our sins and rose again, confess our sins, and put our trust in Him alone. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. We encourage you to call upon His name daily, for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
We now pray together for you. Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ and we lift this dear one to You who is hurting from betrayal and heartbreak. Lord, You see the lies that were spoken, the promises that were broken, the unfaithfulness and the cruel words and manipulation that have crushed this heart. We ask You to forgive every sin that has been committed and to cleanse and heal. Pour out Your comfort as the God of all comfort described in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. Heal the memories, calm the anxiety, and lift the heaviness. Matthew 11:28 invites us Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, so we ask for that rest to fall upon this dear one now. Teach what it means to cast all cares upon You because You care, as 1 Peter 5:7 says, and to exchange bitterness for forgiveness. Help this dear one to forgive as You have forgiven us in Ephesians 4:32, not to excuse the sin but to release the burden of vengeance to You, for Romans 12:19 says Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. Guard from returning to what harmed, give wisdom to set biblical boundaries, surround with godly counsel and faithful friends, and restore hope. Isaiah 41:10 says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We claim that promise. We pray for complete healing, for peace that surpasses all understanding in Philippians 4:7, and for future hope that You will work all things together for good for those who love You as Romans 8:28 promises. Lead step by step into wholeness and, in Your perfect time and will, provide a godly marriage that honors You if that is Your plan. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
