We understand that you're going through a difficult time and seeking God's will for your relationship. Firstly, we want to assure you that God cares about every detail of your life, including your relationships. It's important to seek God in this and it's only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. In Acts 4:10-12 WEB it is written, "in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth...there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved"
In your situation it is clear that you already know the answer. Your boyfriend and relationship is not making you happy or helping you grow. In 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, it's written, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" This verse warns against being in relationships that do not align with our faith and hinder our spiritual growth.
Moreover, as believers, we are called to pursue righteousness and a relationship that honors God. In Ephesians 5:3 WEB, it says, "But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints." Sex before marriage is called fornication and is immoral. a sin against your own body. Therefore, it's crucial to ensure that any relationship should be looking for a spouse rather than a partner.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is seeking your will for her relationship. Lord, grant her the wisdom and discernment to make decisions that honor you. If this relationship is not your will for her, give her the strength to let go and trust in your timing for a godly spouse. Help her to grow in her faith and reliance on you. Protect her heart, mind, and spirit as she navigates this situation. Lord, if the relationship is something that needs to end, please reveal that to her and provide her the strength to do so. May she mold her life according to your will. May she live a righteous life before you. May she walk in the "newness of life." May she experience righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. May she and her future spouse serve you all the days of their lives. May they function as lights of your truth. May they be a testimony of your glory. May they live in such a way as to be an example to those around them as to biblical marriage and biblical living. Thank you for setting the standard of holiness from your word. Thank you for providing clarity through your word. Thank you for providing clarity through your Holy Spirit. May she honor you in her life. We ask all this in Jesus Christ's name Amen.
Be strong and courageous knowing that God is with you and He will never leave you nor forsake you in Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB. Trust in Him to guide your steps.
