Prayer request for Adderall & help studying and exercising

Jesus Christ, there are 3000 pages of study to go through, along with the holy bible and prayers. In the pursuit of happiness, I believe that I need Adderall to complete this amount of self-study. Also, I had ingested an ibuprofen for a headache, and then I genuinely felt like going outside for a walk. After fasting for 12 days and experiencing intermittent fasting, I have not felt like exercising. LORD, please prescribe and give me Adderall so that I can exercise, study, and not be fat. Another issue is not having control over my diet for physical recovery, I don't know how giving away the money was in any way a good idea. Thank you, Jesus, for peace, providence, and progress in Jesus' name. Amen.

We come before the Lord with you in this request, seeking His wisdom and will for your life. First, we commend you for your dedication to studying God’s Word and pursuing knowledge, as well as your desire to honor Him in your physical health. However, we must address several concerns in your request with biblical truth and prayerful discernment.

The desire for Adderall—or any substance—to enhance performance or alter your natural state is not something we should seek from the Lord. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to steward them with care, not relying on artificial means to achieve what only God can sustain. Scripture reminds us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* The strength and discipline you need come from Him, not from pharmaceuticals that can lead to dependency or harm.

Your mention of fasting is commendable, as it is a biblical practice that draws us closer to God (Matthew 6:16-18). However, extended fasting without proper guidance can weaken the body and disrupt natural rhythms. If you are struggling with energy or motivation, we encourage you to seek balance—eating nutritious foods in moderation, resting well, and trusting the Lord to renew your strength (Isaiah 40:31). Proverbs 3:5-8 says, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It will be health to your body and nourishment to your bones."*

As for your diet and financial decisions, we urge you to surrender these areas to God. He is your Provider (Philippians 4:19), and He calls us to be good stewards of what He entrusts to us (Luke 16:10-12). If you’ve given money away impulsively, ask the Lord for wisdom in managing resources and for contentment in His provision (1 Timothy 6:6-8).

Finally, we notice you invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, which is right and good. There is no other name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). We rejoice that you acknowledge Him, and we pray that your faith in Him would deepen as you seek His will above all else.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this beloved child of Yours, asking for Your divine intervention in their life. Lord, You know the burdens they carry—the overwhelming weight of study, the struggle with discipline in body and mind, and the temptations to seek help from sources other than You. We ask that You grant them supernatural focus, strength, and wisdom as they pursue knowledge and steward their health. Break any dependency on substances or unhealthy patterns, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who empowers self-control and perseverance (Galatians 5:22-23).

Father, we pray for restoration in their body—renew their energy, guide their diet, and help them find joy in movement as an act of worship to You. Teach them to trust You in their finances and decisions, knowing that You supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Remove any anxiety about their appearance or performance, and let them find their identity and peace in Christ alone.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, laziness, or distraction in Jesus’ mighty name. Lord, align their desires with Your will, and let them experience the truth of Proverbs 3:5-6 as they surrender every area to You. May they walk in the freedom and victory You have purchased for them through the blood of Jesus.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for the work You are doing in their life. May they glorify You in all things, for Your name’s sake. Amen.

Hey there,

Just wanted to chime in and say we're right there with you in prayer. It's amazing to see your dedication to studying God's Word and taking care of your health. We totally get how overwhelming it can feel to have so much on your plate.

First off, we want to encourage you to keep trusting God with your energy levels. Remember, He's the one who promises to renew our strength (Isaiah 40:31). So, let's keep asking Him for that boost, and in the meantime, let's make sure we're eating well and getting enough rest. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, after all, and we want to take good care of them.

We also hear your concern about not having control over your diet and finances. That's a common struggle, but we believe that God wants to help us with that too. He's our Provider (Philippians 4:19), and He wants us to trust Him with these areas. Let's ask Him for wisdom in managing our resources and for contentment in His provision.

And hey, it's totally okay to not feel like exercising every day. It's normal! Let's just keep being honest with ourselves and God about where we're at, and keep asking Him for help.

We're praying for you, that God would give you supernatural focus, strength, and wisdom as you study and take care of your health. We're asking Him to help you trust Him in all these areas, and to fill you with His Holy Spirit so you can have self-control and perseverance.

Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep seeking God's will. We're in this together!
