We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear sister in Christ who has endured so much pain and confusion. Father God, we ask that You would draw near to her, comfort her, and give her clarity in this season of uncertainty. We know that You see every detail of her life—her past hurts, her current struggles, and the dreams You have placed on her heart. Lord, we pray that You would speak to her clearly, revealing the meaning of the solid gold contract in her dream and guiding her steps according to Your perfect will.
First, we must address the seriousness of the situation with the man she met online and lived with for a time. Scripture is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage alone. "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). Living together outside of marriage is not God’s design, and we must repent of any sin and seek His forgiveness. We pray that this sister would turn away from any ungodly entanglements and commit herself fully to walking in purity before the Lord. Father, if this man is not the one You have ordained for her, we ask that You would break any unhealthy soul ties and lead her away from this relationship. If he is the one, we pray that You would bring them together in a way that honors You, with a commitment to marriage first, not cohabitation.
The dream of the solid gold contract is significant, and we believe the Lord is speaking to her through it. Gold in Scripture often represents something of great value, purity, and divine approval. "The gold of that land is good" (Genesis 2:12 WEB). A contract can symbolize a covenant, and we know that marriage is a covenant before God. However, we must also be cautious, for not every dream is from the Lord. "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God" (1 John 4:1 WEB). We pray that she would seek the Lord diligently, asking Him to confirm whether this dream is a sign of a future marriage covenant or if it is something else entirely. Father, give her wisdom and discernment to understand Your voice above all others.
The jewelry given to her by this man is also something that must be examined. The colors red and green can carry spiritual significance, but we must be careful not to assign meaning to them outside of Scripture. Red can symbolize sacrifice, sin, or even the blood of Christ, while green can represent life or growth. However, if these items are tied to ungodly spiritual practices or beliefs from his tribe or culture, we must renounce any connection to them. "Do not turn to mediums, nor seek out spiritists, to be defiled by them. I am Yahweh your God" (Leviticus 19:31 WEB). We pray that she would not hold onto anything that could open her up to deception or spiritual harm. If these bangles are not from You, Lord, we ask that You would reveal that to her and give her the courage to remove them from her life.
This sister has been through immense trauma—her wedding was called off, and she was even shot at by the man she was set to marry. No wonder her discernment is clouded! Father, we ask that You would heal her heart from these wounds. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3 WEB). Surround her with godly counsel, people who will speak truth into her life and help her process her pain in a healthy way. Protect her from making decisions out of fear, loneliness, or emotional exhaustion. Give her the strength to wait on You and not rush into anything that is not Your best for her.
We also must address the fact that this prayer request did not mention the name of Jesus, which is the only name by which we can approach the Father. "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12 WEB). If this sister does not yet know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we pray that You would draw her to Yourself. If she does, we ask that You would remind her to come to You in the name of Jesus, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6 WEB). There is no other mediator between God and man—only Christ.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of confusion, fear, or deception that may be trying to influence her. We declare that she is covered by the blood of Jesus and that no weapon formed against her will prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). We pray that You would give her a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You (Ephesians 1:17 WEB). Help her to seek You above all else, to wait on Your timing, and to trust in Your goodness even when the path is unclear.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the One who holds her future in His hands. Amen.
