Beloved of All
We join you in bringing this young officer before the Lord with urgency and compassion, and we thank you for sharing this burden so that we may pray together.
We ask our merciful Father, who brought each of us from nothing into being and who holds our lives in His hands, to be near to this young man in his critical condition. We pray for the swelling in his brain to subside, for his sight to be fully restored, and for his body to be healed completely. We ask the Lord to guide the hands and wisdom of the doctors and nurses who are caring for him, to grant skill and clarity in every decision they make.
We also pray for comfort and strength for his family, his fellow officers, and all who love him and wait in anxiety. May God grant them long suffering and peace that remains steady even when what has happened is sudden and hard to bear, trusting that He is present in suffering and able to bring good from it. As we have seen in Scripture, bodily blindness is not the deepest evil and does not have the final word, for God is able to restore sight to the eyes and to work within the heart, and sin alone is the true evil from which Christ came to save us through Himself alone.
We pray that if it is the Lord's will, this officer may recover fully and return to the work he loves, and above all that through this trial he and those around him would know the nearness and saving grace of Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.
