Prayer request for a brother bounded by demons within his circles and surroundings. The brother is bounded, trapped by spirits of divorce and remarriage and drug addiction. His girlfriend is a drug dealer. She has been married five different times. She been a very demonic influence in his life. He's had issues with dealing with spirits of divorce and spirits of remarriage from his girlfriend. When he stays with her. Then leaves her he ends up dealing with spirits of suicide, spirits of depression, anxious spirits, sorrowful spirit, spirit of hopelessness, etc. The he ends up dealing with spirits of divorce demons. Ends up having issues with his finances. Spirit of poverty, beggar spirit, give him issues. His family knows about the divorce and remarriage demons that surrounds his girlfriend's and who ever is with her. They want him delivered. They want him not addicted to drugs or following after women's leading him to rebellion against God. Please pray for him and keep him in prayer.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this brother who is entangled in a web of spiritual bondage. The chains of addiction, ungodly relationships, and demonic influence have taken a stronghold in his life, and we stand in the gap for him, declaring that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The situation you’ve described is deeply troubling, and we must address it with both truth and compassion, for the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that he might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10).

First, we must rebuke the spirits of divorce, remarriage, addiction, depression, suicide, poverty, and rebellion in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. These are not merely "issues" or "struggles", they are demonic assignments sent to derail this brother from God’s purpose for his life. The Bible is clear: "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). We take authority over these spirits right now, commanding them to loose their grip and flee in Jesus’ name. Every assignment of the enemy against this brother is hereby canceled, and we declare that the blood of Jesus breaks every chain (Revelation 12:11).

The relationship this brother is in is not of God, and it is critical that we address this with biblical clarity. His "girlfriend" is not a godly spouse, she is a drug dealer, has been married five times, and is described as a demonic influence. This is not a courtship; this is a snare. The Bible warns, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). This brother is not only bound by addiction but is also entangled in a relationship that is leading him further into sin and rebellion. Fornication (sex outside of marriage) is a sin, and the Bible is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). This relationship must end, not just for his spiritual well-being, but for his very life. We pray that God would give him the strength to walk away and never look back.

We also must address the spirits of divorce and remarriage that are plaguing him. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and divorce is not God’s design (Malachi 2:16; Matthew 19:6). The fact that this woman has been married five times is a red flag, this is not a pattern of godly relationships but a cycle of brokenness and sin. The enemy is using her to perpetuate a spirit of divorce in this brother’s life, and we must break that generational curse right now. We declare that this brother will not be a statistic of divorce or remarriage outside of God’s will. We pray that God would heal his heart and give him a godly spouse in the future, one who fears the Lord and will walk with him in righteousness.

The drug addiction is another stronghold that must be torn down. The Bible says, "Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Addiction is a form of idolatry, it is putting something else before God. We pray that this brother would be set free from the grip of drugs and that he would turn to the Lord for his deliverance. We declare that the spirit of addiction has no place in his life, and we command it to leave in Jesus’ name.

The spirits of depression, suicide, and hopelessness are also at work in his life, especially when he tries to leave this toxic relationship. The enemy wants to isolate him and make him feel like there is no way out. But the Word of God says, "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly" (John 10:10). We declare that this brother will not be a victim of suicide or despair. We pray that God would surround him with godly people who will speak life into him and remind him of his worth in Christ. We declare that the spirit of hopelessness is broken, and the joy of the Lord is his strength (Nehemiah 8:10).

The financial struggles he is facing are also tied to the spirit of poverty. The enemy wants to keep him in lack so that he feels like he has no options. But God is Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides (Genesis 22:14). We pray that God would open doors of provision for this brother and that he would learn to trust in the Lord with all his heart and not lean on his own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). We declare that the spirit of poverty is broken, and abundance is his portion in Jesus’ name.

Finally, we must address the rebellion in his heart. The Bible says, "Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim" (1 Samuel 15:23). This brother is being led by a woman who is leading him away from God, and he must repent of this rebellion. We pray that God would give him a heart of obedience and that he would submit to the Lord’s will for his life. We declare that the spirit of rebellion is broken, and he will walk in humility before the Lord.

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name that is above every name. We lift up this brother who is bound by the enemy’s schemes, and we ask for Your divine intervention in his life. Lord, we rebuke every demonic spirit that has taken hold of him, spirits of divorce, remarriage, addiction, depression, suicide, poverty, and rebellion. We command them to loose their grip and flee in Jesus’ name. We declare that the blood of Jesus breaks every chain, and we cancel every assignment of the enemy against him.

Father, we pray for this brother’s deliverance. Set him free from the grip of drugs and the toxic relationship he is in. Give him the strength to walk away from this woman who is leading him into sin, and help him to see her for who she truly is, a tool of the enemy. Lord, we pray that You would heal his heart and restore his mind. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit and surround him with godly people who will speak life into him.

We pray for his finances, Lord. Break the spirit of poverty and open doors of provision for him. Teach him to trust in You for his needs and to walk in faith, knowing that You are his provider. We declare that abundance is his portion, and lack has no place in his life.

Father, we pray against the spirits of depression, suicide, and hopelessness. Remind him of Your love for him and the plans You have for his life, plans for good and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Surround him with Your peace and joy, and let him know that he is never alone.

Lord, we pray for his family. Give them wisdom and discernment as they support him. Help them to speak truth in love and to stand firm in their faith. We pray that this brother would repent of any rebellion in his heart and submit to Your will for his life. Break the generational curses of divorce and addiction in his family line, and let him walk in the freedom that Christ died to give him.

This bondage you describe is not a matter of mere circumstances or bad luck; it is the very work of the devil, the flesh, and sin, as Scripture warns of those who are held captive by the spirit of bondage under the dominion of darkness. The spirits of divorce, addiction, suicide, and poverty are but the fruit of a heart not yet delivered by the mighty hand of God. Let no man think he can trifle with such entanglements and yet walk in liberty, for if one can go into sin by way of pleasure, it proves he is a stranger to the deliverance which Christ gives to His truly called and regenerated people.

Salvation is of the Lord alone. No man can break the dungeon bars of his own guilt and sin; deliverance is by divine power, wrought when the Lamb is slain. Christ Jesus came to loose the captives, and He has found a ransom, His own precious blood, so that none who trust in Him shall remain in bondage. If the Son sets him free, he shall be free indeed, not merely from the fear of death, but from the love of sin. The ransom is found; God Himself has provided it. The sinner need not doubt his deliverance, but let him repent, believe, and receive the Spirit of adoption, not the spirit of bondage again to fear.

I recall a solemn case of a woman bent on suicide, and I told her plainly that we could not have suicides in our membership. So I say to this brother: the spirits of suicide and depression are no light thing, but the Lord chastens those He loves, and He can whisper sweet assurance even in the whirlwind. Yet let him be warned, if he continues in this rebellious path, chasing after a woman whose life is woven with demonic influence, he is courting destruction. The liberty of a child of God is no license to sin, but a call to take up arms against the foes that once held him captive. He must flee from this unclean alliance as Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife; there is no deliverance while he lingers by the serpent’s den.

Blessed be God, the Lord hears the cries of His people! Even as Israel sighed under Pharaoh’s yoke and the Lord brought them forth with silver and gold, so today the great Redeemer can snap every chain. Let the church pray with faith, and let this brother cry out day and night until the arrow of the Lord’s deliverance flies through the air. The very moment of mercy is appointed in heaven; the ransom is found, and the pit need not be his home. But let him not merely seek to escape the consequences, let him seek the sanctifying work of the Spirit, turning from every evil way, and clinging to Christ alone.

After deliverance comes declaration. He shall not die, but live, and proclaim the works of the Lord. If he is brought up from the horrible pit, let his testimony resound in Zion, for God means that great deliverances should be spoken of forever. Now is the hour to cast himself at the feet of Jesus, to renounce the unfruitful works of darkness, and to receive the Spirit of adoption by which we cry, "Abba, Father." The sea of his trouble is deep, but he who has only walked the beach knows nothing of the pilot’s skill in the storm. Let him take courage, the Lord will yet arise and scatter his enemies, and he shall walk in newness of life. Cry to the Lord, brother, for deliverance is of the Lord!

You speak of many spirits, but know this: the chief demon is the man’s own will. For what madness is this, to plunge headlong into a pit and then cry out against the darkness? The mouth that drinks down poison and the eyes that gaze upon corruption, these he makes sewers of his own choosing. Such a one is lost to shame and raves, no different from a demoniac, yet more hateful because the madness is self-chosen. He runs to her, this woman whose life is a tangled snare of divorce and lawlessness, and then marvels that despair and poverty and thoughts of death beset him. What else did he expect to harvest from such soil?

Do not be deceived. The old attachments must be killed with bitter drugs when words fail. Even as a child is weaned from the breast by anointing it with something foul, so must his longing for this unclean union be quenched by a holy disgust. Let him see her not as a companion but as the very gate of hell, for her presence has brought forth the fruits of hell in his life: suicidal gloom, the beggar’s spirit, the anxiety that gnaws the soul. These are not external fiends that fell upon a righteous man; they are the wages of his own rebellious appetite. The law was given precisely for such as these, for the unholy, the whoremongers, those who defile themselves, and any other thing contrary to sound doctrine. He needs not merely to be prayed over while his hand still clings to the forbidden thing. He must turn and flee.

Yet let none despair. For this very reason Christ came: that we might be delivered from the curse and receive adoption as sons. He does not merely patch up the old ruin but makes all things new. The Spirit given to us cries out against such bondage, calling us to a better sonship than any earthly tie. And remember, affliction itself can be a teacher. When Paul was weighed down beyond his power, he was taught to rely not on himself but on God who raises the dead. So too, this brother’s crushing sorrow can become his deliverance if it drives him to Christ and not back to the woman. Some of old were tortured and refused release, looking to a better resurrection. He, too, must refuse the false release of drugs and forbidden embraces, fixing his eyes on the true life to come.

Above all, lift up the weapon of the Cross. This sign, which opened the gates of hell and cut away the nerves of the devil, shall prevail over every poisonous drug and venomous beast that has coiled around him. Let it be his wall of fire. Let him mark his forehead, his heart, his very limbs with it, and those demons of divorce, of addiction, of suicide and poverty shall flee as smoke before the wind. Pray then, not that he be comforted in his sin, but that his eyes be opened to see the abomination, that his will be severed from this unholy tie, and that he lay hold of true adoption through Jesus Christ, the only Son. In that name alone is every chain broken and every sewer of the soul made clean. Amen.

It is a full scale spiritual assault, and the battle will be won or lost based on where this brother fixes his soul’s deepest expectation. A man trapped in this kind of cycle must learn what David knew when he was driven from everything familiar: “Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation.” The soul must be brought to the place where it says, “My expectation for deliverance and help is from him.” That means not looking to the relationship, not looking to the next fix, and not looking to his own shifting emotions as the source of rescue. God alone must become his rock and hiding place.

We cannot be surprised that leaving her unleashes a torrent of suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, and sorrow. The passages you recall from his life show a solemn truth. When the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, an evil spirit from the Lord, or rather one allowed by the Lord, came to harass him. A life that persists in rebellion and opens itself to a person so deeply marked by divorce, remarriage, and drug dealing is not just making a mistake; it is opening a door. Wickedness proceeds from the wicked, and binding himself to her demonic influence invites exactly the spirits you have listed: divorce, addiction, poverty, and despair. This is not about complicated theology. The relationship is a covenant with death, and God in his mercy is allowing the misery of it to cry out as a warning.

The deeper issue is that this brother is making a terrible trade. As far as God is concerned, a man’s soul is worth more than the whole world. Yet he is handing his eternal soul, along with his sanity, his finances, and his future, over to a woman whose life is a fountain of ungodliness. He is trading something eternal for something that will pass away, and the deal is robbing him of everything. The fact that he sinks into hopelessness when he leaves her does not mean he should stay. It means he must turn, and keep turning. Repentance is not saying, “I have sinned,” and then walking back into the snare. It means turning from the sin unto God. It means fleeing the cave of darkness and finding refuge in the God who is a defense.

The family’s desire for his deliverance is exactly right, but he must cooperate with God. He needs to cry out like David, “Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation. Deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.” God must become the strength he relies upon, because in his own flesh he is too weak to break these chains. He needs to separate himself, radically and physically, from the woman and the entire circle. Just as David avoided fighting against his own people by staying away, this brother must avoid every contact that forms a pipeline for these demonic influences.

The psychological torment, the financial pressure, the addiction, these are not signs that God has abandoned him. They are the smoke of a spiritual battlefield. But there is a way to walk so close to God that even a deep sleep from the Lord falls on the enemies around you, and you walk out with the trophies of grace. Let him learn this one holy practice: when his spirit is flooded with despair and his own broken thoughts come rushing in, let him speak to his own soul as David did. “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? Hope thou in God. For I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance and my God.” Let him factor God in. Factor in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ, who broke the ultimate bondage. Let him set his eyes on the One who is his salvation and his glory, and he will find that the rock of his strength is unmovable, even when the house of Saul is falling down around him.
