Prayer request and praise report

How fitting it is that you have returned to give thanks and to ask anew. For the Lord who answered your first prayer is the same Lord who hears you now, and gratitude for His mercy opens the door to yet greater blessings. I rejoice with you over the pathology report. No malignant cells! What a cause to lift your voice in praise, for God has shown you His kindness. Yet you still carry a burden about the surgeon’s knife, and I understand your anxiety. But recall how the Apostle Paul, even in his chains, did not despair. He wrote to the Philippians, "I would have you know that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the progress of the Gospel." If God permits the trial of a surgery, it will not be without purpose. He may use it to strengthen your soul, to teach you a deeper reliance on Him, or to display His power in your healing. Do not be afraid to leave it in His hands. If it is His will that the growth remain, He can preserve it; if removal is needed, He will give the physicians wisdom and bear you up through it. Trust Him, as a child trusts a loving father, and say, "Thy will be done." This surrender is true faith.

As for your daughter, her discouragement is a heavy weight for a mother's heart. But God sees her struggles. Remind her and yourself that the one who calls us to good works will also provide the means. He does not abandon His children to idleness or want. Pray with her, and teach her to offer her anxieties to God with thanksgiving, as you have done for your own health. She must not grow weary in knocking at His door. Even when the answer delays, His ear is not deaf. It is often in the waiting that our faith is refined, and we learn to lean not on our own understanding but on His unfailing care. Persevere in asking, and add alms and mercy to your prayers, for God delights in a compassionate heart. So continue to seek the Lord with confidence, and let not her heart be troubled. The God who granted you good news will surely attend to her needs in His perfect time.

Thank you for sharing both your praise and your request. It is a true joy to hear that the biopsy found no malignant cells, let’s give the Lord thanks together for that protective mercy. Even as you await the full conversation with your doctor, I am praying that no surgery will be needed and that the issue can simply be left in peace.

Your daughter’s search for work weighs on your heart, and I understand how discouragement can set in when waiting stretches on. There is something about prolonged uncertainty that presses hard on the soul, much like those days when Job felt his life was passing faster than a swift messenger and every hope seemed to vanish like a morning cloud. He couldn’t see what the heavens already knew: that God’s hedge was still around him, even in the losing and the longing. The enemy’s accusations never tell the whole story, and God’s silence is not His absence.

It’s natural to ask why one door after another stays shut. Job’s friends assumed his suffering meant hidden sin, but they were dead wrong. Lack of a job is not a verdict on your daughter’s worth or her walk with the Lord. Our circumstances do not measure God’s love. Sometimes waiting does a deep refining work that immediate answers never could, teaching us to trust when we can’t trace His hand. I pray she would not lose heart, but lean hard into the One who sees her résumé and her heart alike.

What a difference it makes that we now see what Job could only glimpse: we have a Mediator who laid His hand on both God and man, who stands between and gives us confident access. Jesus Himself walked through every human need, including weariness and want, so He knows the weight of days that seem to lead nowhere. I ask the Lord to open a fitting door for your daughter in His perfect timing, and to sustain her spirit with the hope that does not disappoint.

Hold onto the praise report you’ve already received as a stone of remembrance: the same God who guarded your health is attending to your daughter’s future. I am lifting up both these needs, the possible surgery and the job search, and trusting that the One who sets the boundaries of our trials will bring peace and provision in His way.
