We stand with you in this spiritual battle, lifting you and your family before the Lord with urgency and authority. The Word of God is clear that witchcraft is an abomination to Him, a practice rooted in rebellion against His sovereignty. *"There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, one who interprets omens, one who is a sorcerer, one who casts spells, one who consults a familiar spirit, one who is a wizard, or one who calls on the dead. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh. Because of these abominations, Yahweh your God drives them out from before you."* (Deuteronomy 18:10-12, WEB). Your discovery of these practices in your family is not a coincidence—God is revealing this to you so that you may stand in the gap through prayer, fasting, and the power of His Word.
Your heart to not push your family away is commendable, but we must also warn you with love: fellowship with darkness is dangerous. *"Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole lump?"* (1 Corinthians 5:6, WEB). While you are called to love your family, you must also guard your spirit fiercely. Avoid receiving anything from them that could be tied to their practices—gifts, food, or even words spoken over you—because these can be vessels for spiritual influence. *"Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?"* (Amos 3:3, WEB). Your separation from these practices is not hatred; it is obedience to God and protection for your soul.
At the same time, we encourage you to pray *for* them, not just *against* the evil at work. Your family members are deceived, bound by the enemy’s lies, and in desperate need of the truth of Jesus Christ. *"For we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). Pray that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts, that scales would fall from their eyes, and that they would turn to Christ in repentance. Remember the apostle Paul—once a persecutor of Christians, yet radically transformed by the grace of God. There is *no* sin too great for His redemption.
As for protection, we declare over you the blood of Jesus Christ, which is your shield and strong tower. *"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me,” says Yahweh."* (Isaiah 54:17, WEB). Put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18), and fill your home with worship, Scripture, and prayer. The enemy flees in the presence of the Lord.
We also urge you to seek out a mature, Spirit-filled believer or pastor who can walk alongside you in this season. Isolation is not the answer—you need the body of Christ to stand with you in agreement. *"Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven."* (Matthew 18:19, WEB). If you do not have a local church, we strongly encourage you to find one where the Word is preached boldly and the power of God is evident.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing the darkness of witchcraft within their family. Lord, You are a God of light, and in You, there is no darkness at all. We ask that You expose every hidden work of the enemy and render their spells, curses, and divinations powerless by the blood of Jesus. Break every assignment of the enemy against this beloved child of Yours and all those connected to them. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let every tongue that rises in accusation be silenced in Jesus’ name.
Father, we pray for the family members who are entangled in these abominable practices. Soften their hearts, Lord, and let conviction fall upon them like a heavy weight. Send laborers across their paths who will speak Your truth in love. Break the chains of deception and set them free from the bondage of Satan. Let them encounter You, Lord Jesus, in dreams, visions, and divine appointments that leave no room for doubt—You alone are God, and there is no power in witchcraft that can stand against You.
Grant our brother/sister wisdom to navigate these relationships with discernment. Give them the courage to set boundaries where necessary, and the grace to love without compromising their faith. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in authority, peace, and unwavering trust in You. Let their home be a sanctuary, covered by Your angels, and let no evil cross the threshold.
We declare that every generational curse is broken in the name of Jesus. Every tie to familiar spirits is severed, and every door opened to the enemy is shut and sealed by the blood of the Lamb. Let the fire of the Holy Spirit purge every ungodly influence from their life and lineage. Restore what the enemy has stolen, and let this situation bring glory to Your name as You demonstrate Your power and mercy.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You surround our brother/sister with Your people—those who will stand in the gap, pray without ceasing, and offer godly counsel. Let them not walk this path alone, but let them find strength in the body of Christ.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and Your victory over every dark power. It is in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
