why is it when i have someone to help me with something i cant find the one tool i need have lots of tools but just not the one i need for this to be done so now i will need to wait till i find it or go buy another one well i have to say this is how lots happen to me so prayers i will get the tool needed and get this done in Jesus name amen

We hear your heart in this request, both the concern for your friend facing surgery and the frustration of feeling hindered in a task when the right tool seems just out of reach. Let us come before the Lord together in prayer and reflection.

Heavenly Father, we lift up to You as they prepare for surgery. You are the Great Physician, the One who knits us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13) and holds our very breath in Your hands (Daniel 5:23). We ask for Your healing hand to guide the surgeons, nurses, and all medical staff involved. Grant them wisdom, precision, and peace as they work. Calm any fear or anxiety in ’s heart, reminding them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We declare Your promise that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we trust You for a successful procedure and a full recovery.

Lord, we also bring before You the frustration of feeling delayed or hindered in tasks. It’s easy to grow impatient when things don’t go as planned, but we know that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Even when the right tool, or the right timing, seems missing, You are not absent. Help us to trust in Your provision, knowing that You supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Give wisdom to know whether to wait, to seek another way, or to move forward in faith. Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12), and to rest in the knowledge that Your timing is perfect.

Father, we also want to gently remind our brother or sister in Christ of the power and necessity of praying in the name of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to You, our Heavenly Father (Ephesians 2:18). When we pray "in Jesus' name," we are acknowledging that we come before You not by our own merit, but by the blood of Christ, who tore the veil that separated us from You (Matthew 27:51). We encourage you to always pray in the authority and power of Jesus’ name, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

We also want to encourage you to see these moments of delay or frustration as opportunities to grow in dependence on God. The tools we lack may be a reminder that our sufficiency is not in our own hands, but in Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). When we feel stuck, let us remember that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). Instead of focusing on what is missing, let us seek God’s face and ask Him to reveal what He is teaching us in this season.

Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the privilege of coming before You. We ask that You would be with in their surgery, guiding every hand and calming every fear. We pray for complete healing and restoration, and we trust You for a testimony of Your goodness. For the task at hand, we ask that You would provide the tools, wisdom, and patience needed to complete it. Help us to see Your hand in every detail and to trust You even when things don’t go as we planned. Teach us to rely on You more each day, and to find our peace in Your presence. You have asked prayer for your friend , and you have also poured out the small vexation of a missing tool. I am glad you bring both to the throne of grace, for the same Lord who healeth the sick numbereth the very hairs of your head and taketh note of every common need. How often we find ourselves like the seeker in Isaiah, looking for brightness but walking in gloom, when the simplest burden will cloud our peace. Yet the mercy is this: Jesus Christ does not need to put you through a long purgatory of waiting. He has only this night to open your eyes to see His provision, whether it be skill for the surgeon’s hand or the finding of that one tool hid from your sight.

For , I would echo the Apostle’s plea: I beseech you, Brethren, that ye agonize with me in prayer to God for her. The surgery is set for tomorrow, and you do well to seek the prayers of the church. Let not the hour seem wrong to approach the Savior; He would not have you delay for a single breath. It is a blessed thing to hear our prayers rising for one another, for Christ’s own intercession is that which saves to the uttermost. He prayed for Peter before the sifting came, and He ever liveth to make intercession. Let us therefore cry mightily on ’s behalf, “Lord, help her! Cause Thy face to shine upon her in that operating theatre, and guide the hands of the healers.” Real grace for real need, He did nothing for show, and all His power goeth forth to those who have true need of healing.

As for the missing tool, do not think it too small a matter to lay before Him. This prayer will suit you at this moment and all day tomorrow, “Lord, help me!” The keys of Providence are not taken out of His hand yet. He knoweth how to deliver the righteous out of all their troubles, even the little testings that unravel our patience. I find that a true prayer is often beyond my own power, but the cry of “Lord, help me!” is one He never despiseth. Use it now and use it often. Perhaps the Lord allows the delay that you may prove His nearness in every trifle, and learn to lean on Him who filleth all in all.

Now the God of peace be with you both, revive your confidence, and grant a good outcome for , and for you the calm assurance that even the least thing is ordered by His wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The body of your friend will soon be under the knife, but let us remember that in this place we are about a different surgery: a spiritual one, where the wounds our souls have taken are healed. So while we pray for the doctors’ skill, let us not neglect to pray that this affliction becomes a true healing, cleansing the inward parts and drawing your friend nearer to the Great Physician. For to provide for our own means caring for the soul as well as the body, and we must entrust both to God’s mercy.

As for the tool you cannot find: you are frustrated, and that is plain. But consider how small a thing it is that disturbs you. We are commanded to make provision for the flesh, but only for health, never to fan the flames of anxiety or wantonness. The present life is no more solid than a dream, and its petty troubles vanish when the day dawns. Instead of fretting, do as the lame did: they were cast at Jesus’ feet, unable to walk yet brought by others with simple faith. Cast this care at His feet as well. Seek first the kingdom, and trust that the tool will appear or another be supplied. I will pray with you that your need be met, but more that your heart find rest in the one who knows your necessities before you ask.

It catches my attention how you hold two concerns side by side: a friend heading into surgery and a tool you cannot find that has brought your work to a standstill. The frustration you describe is the kind that runs deeper than the moment. You feel the lack acutely, and behind it there seems to be a weariness with how often life gets stuck this way. That sensation of emptiness and delay is something the Scriptures understand. There is a vexation of spirit, a deep frustration, that rises when we sense life must be more than what we are experiencing, and all our searching only meets a dead end.

That missing tool is like a coin that has rolled into a corner. While it is lost, all its worth is locked away and useless. The only value a coin has comes when it is put to use. So you wait, or you go buy another, and the whole interruption reminds you of other times when something essential was just out of reach. Yet the Scriptures give us a picture of searching that does not end in frustration. A woman sweeps the house and searches carefully until she finds the lost coin, and the finding overflows into joy. The shepherd goes out after the one sheep that has wandered and brings it back, carrying it home with rejoicing. Jesus told those stories to show us the heart of God toward what is lost. He came to seek and to save what was lost. This applies to souls, certainly, but the principle also meets us in these small, grinding interruptions. We can ask Him to bring what is missing to light, whether it is a physical tool or a needed provision.

Your friend will be under the surgeon's hand tomorrow, and that is an act of what the Proverbs call the faithful wounds of a friend. A skilled surgeon cuts only to heal. The procedure may bring pain and a season of recovery, but the purpose is restoration. In the same way, the Lord at times allows things that hurt for a season because He intends to heal something deeper. The prayer for your friend is that the surgery would accomplish exactly what is needed and that the healing would come swiftly, leaving no lasting trace of the wound.

Still, I notice some inward cuts do not heal so quickly. Words or disappointments from the past can hold their sting for years, while a physical cut mends in days. That is part of why the missing tool can feel like more than a minor annoyance. It echoes other losses and delays you have carried. But there is a Friend who sticks closer than a brother, and He steps into these bewildering moments not to scold but to restore. Jesus said that apart from Him we can do nothing, yet with God all things are possible. What is crooked can be made straight. What is lost can be redeemed. And what is wanting, though it feels beyond numbering, He is able to supply.

So we bring both requests before Him in confidence. We ask for the surgeon's skill and for your friend's body to respond well, for peace to cover every part of the process. We ask too for the tool that has hidden itself from your sight, that the work you need to finish would no longer sit idle. And we ask that in the waiting and in the finding, you would catch a glimpse of the One who fills every spiritual void and turns frustration into the discovery that He is near. Jesus receives us in our lack, and when He restores what was missing, the natural response is joy. May that joy be yours even now as you trust Him with both these burdens.
