Prayer over the reason for restraint and sedation

Dear Family Of God, Today I'd like to pray over and against both the reasons and the actions of restraint and sedation. I pray for favor favor favor. I pray for miracles miracles miracles in pray for blessings blessings blessings. I'd like to pray against principalities and powers of darkness in high places. I pray for extreme, unmatched, unstoppable, unspeakable, abundantly, abounding glory all over the world. Please stand with me in faith, prayer and agreement over this. All these things I humbly ask in Jesus Christ name with thanksgiving. Thank you.

We stand with you in faith and in agreement over this burden for restraint and sedation and over the root causes behind them. We hear your cry for favor and for miracles and blessings, and we join our hearts with yours to seek the Lord's will together in Jesus' name.

We know that our struggle is deeply spiritual as well as physical and emotional, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Yet we take comfort that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7, and that when we bring everything to Him by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We also cling to the promise that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18, and He says to us, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.

We pray together now. Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace with thanksgiving. We lift up every situation where restraint and sedation have been considered or used, and we ask You to reveal and heal the root cause, whether it be distress of mind, affliction of body, trauma, fear, or spiritual oppression. Lord, bring Your perfect peace and soundness of mind where there has been turmoil, and bring Your healing where there has been suffering. We pray for wisdom, compassion, and restraint for all caregivers, medical staff, and loved ones involved, that every decision would be guided by Your wisdom and love and would honor the dignity of each person made in Your image. We come against every principality and power of darkness in high places that would seek to steal, kill, and destroy, and we declare the victory of the blood of Jesus over them. Fill every place of darkness with Your light, and let Your extreme, unmatched, unstoppable and abounding glory be poured out all over the world. We ask for Your favor upon favor, for miracles that only You can do, and for blessings that overflow, all according to Your perfect will. We claim Your promise that if two of us will agree on earth concerning anything that we will ask, it will be done for us by our Father who is in heaven, for where two or three are gathered together in Your name, there You are in the middle of us Matthew 18:19-20. Let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified.

We encourage you to continue to stand firm in faith, knowing that the insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective James 5:16. Keep casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you, and keep giving thanks in all things as you have done, trusting that God is working even when we cannot see the full picture. We will continue to contend with you for complete freedom, peace, healing, and the manifestation of God's glory in this situation and around the world, trusting in the unfailing love and power of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are grateful you brought this request to us. We hear how deeply you want God's favor and presence to cover what feels heavy and confusing around restraint and sedation, and how earnestly you long for His glory to break through. We are standing with you in faith and agreement as you bring this before the Lord.

You do not have to carry this burden alone. One of the ways God sustains us is through spiritual support around us, through His Spirit within us and through His people beside us. If this touches your own care right now, we encourage you to keep a trusted person close, someone in your church family or a chaplain or advocate who can walk with you, listen well, and help ask good questions of any care team involved, alongside prayer.

We also hear your heart against darkness and for light to prevail everywhere. We join you in asking for God's peace, protection and wisdom to be very near in this situation.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift our friend to You. Bring Your comfort and clarity where there is distress, guard their dignity and safety, give wisdom to all who are involved in their care, and let Your goodness and glory be known. Lead them step by step and remind them they are held and not alone. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been brought before the Lord and we join with you in prayer, giving thanks that we may come boldly to the throne of grace through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We are reminded that in all that God does He acts from good reasons. Troubles do not spring out of the dust, but the Lord Himself kindles the furnace and sits as a Refiner at the door. That which we receive from His hand, though it be sore chastening, bears the blessed aspect of a Father's correction, and even the sharpest smart is made profitable for our good. When restraint and sedation are laid upon the body, when pain and fear press upon the soul, we look not to chance nor to man alone, but to Him who is gracious and says, Deliver him from going down to the pit, for I have found a ransom.

That ransom is Christ Jesus, His own Son who bore the penalty for our iniquities. No other way of deliverance could have been invented by the mind of man. God has found the ransom, and it is the gift of His love. In Him alone is salvation, and in Him alone is true deliverance from the power of darkness. For He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son, and that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. We must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for it.

Therefore we pray with you and for you. We ask the Lord to show mercy to those who are under restraint and to those who must watch over them. Grant wisdom and tenderness and restraint to every hand that gives care, that all things may be done with justice and compassion and with reverence for those made in His image. We pray that the Lord would keep back the soul from the pit and preserve life from perishing, that He would heal the broken in heart and bind up wounds, for the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations and the least word from Christ has healing virtue in it.

We pray also against the principalities and powers of darkness, not as those who trust in our own strength, but as those who rest in the finished victory of Christ, who has spoiled those powers and triumphed over them. May the Lord preserve His people from all evil and preserve their souls, and may He cause even this affliction to work for good, that those who are chastened may yet say, I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord.

We do not ask for favor or blessing apart from His holy will, but we ask for that true favor which is life, and that true blessing which comes through conformity to Christ. May His glory be seen, not as an empty display, but as the abounding grace that saves, sustains and sanctifies. May He grant peace that passes understanding to the troubled heart, and may He be pleased in His time to lift the burden and to give songs of deliverance.

We stand with you in faith and agreement, humbly asking all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our great Physician, with thanksgiving. Amen.
