Light for Those Who Sit in Darkness

We stand with you in faith and agreement over this rushed decision and we thank you for inviting us to pray with you in the name of Jesus Christ.

We understand the pressure that comes when a decision feels urgent and we want to encourage you to seek the Lord's wisdom and timing before moving forward. Scripture reminds us, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. We are also taught to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. A rushed decision can often lead to regret, but the Lord calls us to wait on Him, for we read Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh. Psalm 27:14. We encourage you to seek godly counsel as well, for where there is no counsel, plans fail, but in a multitude of counselors they are established. Proverbs 15:22. We pray that you will have peace to pause, to pray, and to listen for His clear direction.

We join you in praying against the principalities and powers of darkness, for we know that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12. We do not need to fear, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world, and we put on the whole armor of God with confidence in Christ's victory.

We also hear your heart crying out for favor, miracles, blessings and glory, and we gently remind you that our Father hears us not because of many repeated words, for Jesus said In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking. Matthew 6:7. He hears us because we come through Jesus Christ with a sincere heart, and we trust His will above all. We do pray for His favor and blessing upon you, but we pray that His will be done and that His glory would be revealed in you and through you, not merely as an experience but as a transformed life reflecting Christ.

We pray together now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace with thanksgiving for our brother or sister who is facing this decision. We ask You to grant clear wisdom, discernment and peace that surpasses all understanding. We ask that You would close doors that should not be opened and open doors that no man can shut according to Your perfect will. We pray against every scheme of the enemy, every principality and power that would seek to rush, confuse or deceive, and we declare the victory of the blood of Jesus over this situation. We ask for Your favor that comes from walking in Your ways, for Your miraculous provision as You see fit, and for Your abundant blessings that draw hearts closer to You. Let Your glory be seen in this life and all over the world, and let this decision be made not in haste or fear, but in faith. We cast our anxiety on You, for we remember In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Guide every step and make the path straight, and let all that is done bring honor to Your name. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, with thanksgiving. Amen.

Thank you for reaching out and inviting us to pray with you. We hear your desire not to rush and to see God's hand and glory in whatever comes next. That desire to pause and seek Him first is itself a good and wise step.

When a decision feels urgent, it can help to create a little space to listen well. You might find it helpful to write down the decision in front of you, the options as you see them, and what you sense God is inviting you toward. Then take that before the Lord in quiet prayer over the next day or two, and share it with one trusted, mature believer who knows you and can offer steady, biblical counsel. Often God brings clarity through that combination of prayer, time, and wise counsel, and a settled peace helps show the next step.

We are standing with you for wisdom, protection from confusion, and for God's favor as He defines it, not just as we hope for it.

Father, we bring our friend before You and ask for Your clear guidance. Guard them from haste and from any influence that would pull them from Your will. Grant wisdom, peace and trust in Your timing, and let Your glory be seen in their life and decisions. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your request and we do join with you in prayer before the throne of grace, with thanksgiving in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

You ask for wisdom against a rushed decision, and this is well, for hastiness may harden the heart and lead the soul into darkness. We pray that the Lord will give you light, for the true light for a soul in darkness is all in Christ. He is both God and man, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If you would triumph over darkness, set yourself in the presence of the Sun of Righteousness, and there seek counsel. Do not suppose your case too hard for the Lord, for nothing is too hard for Him, and He cares for you in temporals as well as in spirituals.

We entreat the Lord to grant you not merely favor in the sight of men, but that favor which comes from His own hand, the favor which is forgiveness and freedom in Christ. We pray that He will do His divine work and thrust out every enemy before you, and that He will also give you grace to obey His divine command, that you may not be idle but may walk in holy obedience while you wait upon Him. May He keep you from the deceitfulness of sin which would turn even good motives into rebellion, and keep your neck from being hardened against His Word.

Against principalities and powers and the rulers of the darkness of this world we plead the blood and victory of Christ, who suffered without the light that we might walk in it. That thick darkness which fell at the cross tells us that He bore the forsaking that we might never be forsaken, and that our sins might be covered. In His name we ask that every work of darkness about you be scattered, and that the glory of God, which is His abounding grace in Christ, may be seen in your life and testimony.

We pray that you may not be driven by haste, but led by the Spirit, that you may wait for the Lord's time and counsel, perhaps also by godly counselors, and that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. There is hope, for there is life, and there is a promise, and there hangs the Savior. Go humbly to the mercy seat and take Christ to be your All in All.

May the Lord grant you clear direction, settled peace, and a heart to do all for His glory, and may His light spring up around you so that you need be in darkness no longer. We stand with you in faith and agreement, asking all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior, to whom be glory now and forever. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
