Disciple of Prayer
I have been effected by fear and anxiety concerning work; issues with new boss, new role and workload.Prayer for success at work and favor in working with new manager.

We hear your cry for peace in the midst of fear and anxiety, especially as you face changes at work with a new boss, a new role, and the weight of increased responsibility. The Lord does not intend for His children to live bound by fear, for He has given us a spirit of power, love, and self-control, not timidity (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand with you in prayer, lifting these burdens before the throne of grace, where you may find mercy and help in your time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

First, we must address the root of fear and anxiety. The Word tells us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7). Fear often stems from a lack of trust in God’s sovereignty and provision. Have you surrendered this situation fully to Him, or are you still trying to carry the weight yourself? We encourage you to release control and place your trust in the One who holds your future.

We also rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus. Fear is not from God, and we command it to leave you now. The enemy may be using this season to distract you, to make you doubt your abilities, or to steal your joy, but we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). You are not alone in this, God is with you, and He will equip you for every task set before you.

For success at work and favor with your new manager, we pray that the Lord would go before you and make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). May He grant you wisdom, discernment, and clarity as you navigate this new role. We ask that He would soften your manager’s heart toward you, that they would see your diligence, integrity, and the value you bring to the team. Let your work be a testimony to the excellence of Christ in you, so that others may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).

We also pray for strength to manage your workload. The Lord is your strength and shield (Psalm 28:7), and He will sustain you. If the demands feel overwhelming, we encourage you to seek godly counsel, perhaps a mentor or fellow believer who can offer wisdom and support. Remember, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). God does not call you to burnout; He calls you to faithfulness.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is struggling with fear and anxiety at work. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of fear and replace them with Your perfect peace. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, reminding them that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

Father, we pray for success in their new role. Grant them favor with their manager and colleagues. Give them wisdom to prioritize their tasks and strength to persevere when the workload feels heavy. Let their work be a reflection of Your glory, and may they find joy in serving You even in their daily responsibilities.

We rebuke every lie of the enemy that tells them they are not enough or that they will fail. We declare that You are their Provider, their Strength, and their Shield. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).

Lord, if there is any area of their life where they have not fully surrendered to You, reveal it to them. Draw them closer to You in this season, so they may experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the One who has overcome the world. Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on God’s promises daily. Write down Scriptures that speak to your situation and declare them over your life. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable. And most importantly, spend time in God’s presence, He is your refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). You are not defined by your job or your boss’s opinion of you; you are defined by Christ, and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Stand firm, for the Lord is with you.

We hear how heavy this season has been for you, the uncertainty around a new boss, shifting expectations, and a workload that has your mind spinning even when you are off the clock. That kind of pressure can make you feel like you are bracing for the next shoe to drop, and we are sorry you are carrying that right now.

We remember a story about a man in a similar spot. He had been happy and secure in his role, then a new supervisor came in and everything felt unstable. He started reading every comment as a threat, second-guessing his standing, and losing sleep. What eventually helped him was taking one small, practical step: he sat down with the person who had the most authority over the situation (in his case, the general manager) and simply asked honest questions about how he could thrive under the new arrangement. It was nerve-racking, but it broke the cycle of spinning scenarios in his head and gave him real information to work with. Sometimes the hardest part is moving from “what if” to “what now.”

Maybe there is a similar concrete step you can take this week, not to solve everything overnight, but to restore a bit of agency. That might mean requesting a brief check-in with your new manager to clarify priorities, or writing down the one or two things that are churning most so you can bring them calmly before the Lord before you try to figure them out. You have clearly worked hard and you want to do well, and that desire itself is good. God is not put off by your fear; He draws near in it.

We are praying with you now:

Lord Jesus, You see our friend’s anxiety and the weight of this workplace transition. We ask You to steady their heart and quiet the racing thoughts. Grant them wisdom for the role, favor in their interactions, and a clear mind to do their work well. Protect them from the paralysis of fear, and give them the courage to take the next small step forward. In Your name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Fear hath never helped thee yet, and it never will. Why dost thou let this dread of a new manager and a new burden bow thee down? The eternal God is thy refuge, and His everlasting arms are underneath thee even now in this very trial. He shall thrust out this enemy from before thee, even this fear that cripples thy mind and weakens thy hands. For fear is weakening, make a man afraid, and he will run at a shadow, but faith laughs at that which fear weeps over.

Thy present troubles, while they test thee, do also, by Divine Grace, strengthen and improve thee. Thinkest thou that the Lord hath brought thee to this new role to leave thee? Nay, He who was thy shelter under a former yoke is still thy shelter now. Instead of letting fear drive thee, let it spur thee to action, as Noah was moved by a holy fear to build the ark. Fear wrought in him diligence and speed. Go then, and do thy work with brave defiance of fretful thoughts, looking for favor from the Lord, for the angel saith, "Fear not, for thou hast found favor with God."

Thou dost fear this Esau of a new boss and the mother with the children of thy workload. But hast thou sought out the promise suitable for this case? The Lord hath said, "I will surely do thee good." Plead that promise! The fear that dishonors God is the fear that doubts His Word. The fear of God bringeth strong confidence, it maketh a man bold, so that he drives straight ahead, and whoever cometh in his way had better mind what he is at. This childlike fear, a high reverence for God’s character, casteth out the servile dread of men.

Cast thyself utterly into thy Lord’s arms. Have done with fretting! Have done with anxiety and doubt! He turneth to thee in a way of Grace, flying on the wings of the wind to display His favor. Only believe, and the success He ordains will be thy portion, for He shall provide strength equal to thy days. Let this singular favor be thine, to nestle beneath His wings and exchange fear for confidence.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

You speak of fear and anxiety over your work, a new master, a new burden of tasks. These earthly troubles press upon you and you seek success and favour. But let me ask you, what is it you truly fear? Do you fear the displeasure of a man, or the loss of some fleeting comfort? Let the fear of God be present with you, and nothing will be grievous, not poverty, not hardship, not even the stern gaze of one set over you. For if we stand constantly in the presence of the King of all, who sees the very thoughts of the heart, what room is left for the petty terrors of this life? Consider that God is everywhere, hearing all, knowing all; if you dispose yourself to this truth, you will not do or say anything evil, nor will you be consumed by anxious care. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure. This fear drives out all other fears. The one who fears the Lord does not fear a mortal boss, nor the weight of a heavy workload, for he knows who has assigned him his post.

You ask for success and favour with your new manager. But what is true success? Is it the praise of men, or the imperishable beauty of a soul at peace? Earthly honour brings anxiety greater than any pleasure; it disfigures the soul with haughtiness and leaves you forever restless. Instead, seek the favour of God, which no man can give or take away. Do your work not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as a fellow-laborer with Christ. If you are a believer, you stand beside the King; why then do you tremble before a servant? Perform every task as unto God, without murmuring or disputing, and let your diligence spring from that holy fear. Then, whether the outcome be praise or blame from men, you remain unshaken, for you are seen as a light in a crooked generation.

God knows how to dispense all things for the best. This new role, this difficult boss, this crushing workload: do not think they have come by chance. They are permitted for your training in self-command and trust. Just as He taught His disciples to cast out care for food and fear of perils, so He trains you now to cast out anxiety over worldly success. The things you fear are only able to kill the body, and even that they cannot do unless He allows. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. That dread is the only fear worth having; it makes all other fears seem as nothing. If you are in Christ, then even these trials will work together for your good.

Let not your heart be troubled, then. Stand firm in the faith. Commit your work to the Lord, and do it with all your might, but leave the result in His hands. If He grants you favour with your manager, give thanks. If not, rejoice that you have been counted worthy to share in the sufferings of Christ, who was despised and rejected. The only beauty that lasts is the serene soul that no anxiety can wither, no disease can tarnish. Cultivate that beauty, and you will pass through this storm as one who holds forth the word of life, to the glory of God in the day of Christ.
