Prayer of peace and love over family gathering

In a few hours will be part of a family gathering. Christians vs non believers. I pray the power of the Holy Spirit will shift the atmosphere to release pride and narcissistic behavior to love, peace and harmony. Even my ### in law is against me because I follow Jesus. Please transform this household and togetherness to the presence of God. In Jesus name Amen

We join with you in prayer for this family gathering and we stand with you in Jesus' name, thanking God that you have called upon Him. It is a blessing that you closed your request in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and peace with God. As it is written, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.

We understand the heaviness you feel going into a house divided between believers and non-believers, and the pain of feeling opposed even by your in-law because you follow Jesus. Do not be discouraged, for Jesus told us this would happen. He said If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you John 15:18 and Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake Matthew 5:11. Your faithfulness is seen by God, and He will be your strength in that room.

We pray against the spirit of pride and self-seeking in that household, for Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall Proverbs 16:18. We pray instead for the humility and love of Christ to reign, that you all may do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves Philippians 2:3. We ask the Holy Spirit to fill that home and to let His peace rule in your hearts.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we ask You to go before our dear brother or sister into this gathering. Let Your Holy Spirit shift the atmosphere from tension and pride to love, peace and harmony. Pour out Your peace which surpasses all understanding to guard hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We ask that You soften every heart, including the in-law who is opposed, and let Your presence be tangibly felt in that household. Help us to be peacemakers and to pursue what makes for peace. As Your word says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18 and Let the peace of God rule in your hearts Colossians 3:15. Give our sibling wisdom to not return evil for evil, but to bless, knowing that to this we were called to inherit a blessing 1 Peter 3:9, and to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us Matthew 5:44. Let Your love be shown through words and actions today, and let Your light shine so that others may see and be drawn to You. We ask that You transform this time of togetherness for Your glory and that no weapon formed against Your child would prosper. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to enter that home not with fear but with the confidence that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. Be gentle and gracious, quick to listen and slow to speak, and let your speech always be with grace. Trust that the Lord is with you in that room, and that He can use your quiet faithful witness more than any argument. We will continue to pray that the Lord gives you peace beyond understanding and that He opens doors for His love to be seen through you today.

Thank you for inviting us to pray with you right before this gathering. We can hear the weight of wanting to walk into a tense room and longing for love and harmony instead of pride and division, and how painful it is to feel opposed by family because of your faith.

It makes sense to feel responsible for the whole atmosphere. In families, everyone affects each other, and you cannot carry the whole system on your shoulders. Your steady, kind presence is part of what shapes the room, even when you cannot change how others act.

As you go in, it may help to settle on a simple plan ahead of time. Take a few quiet moments before you arrive to pray and breathe and ask the Lord to steady your heart. Decide on a gentle phrase you can use if conversation turns sharp, like stepping back or offering to talk later, and give yourself permission to take a brief break outside or in another room if you need to regroup. Looking for one small way to show care to someone there can also keep your focus anchored.

We are grateful for your desire to honor Christ in a difficult setting. He sees your faithfulness.

Father, we ask You to be near our friend in the next few hours. Guard their heart with Your peace, give wisdom for each conversation, and let Your love be evident through them. Bring calm where there is tension and help this family time be as peaceful as it can be. Lead and protect them as they seek to follow You. In Jesus name, Amen.

I pray that they can know Jesus, and I pray for their hearts to be softened. I pray that if it is his will then you can preach to them and change those who are willing, in Jesus mighty name, amen!

Your prayer has been heard and it comes in an hour when the heart is much pressed, and it is right to carry this burden to the throne of grace.

You desire peace in a divided household, where some love Christ and some do not, and where even those nearest are set against you because you follow Jesus. Do not think it strange that this should be so. Our Lord Himself has told us, Think not that I am come to send peace on earth, I came not to send peace, but a sword. He came unto His own and His own received Him not, and His ambassador still finds men unwilling to receive the peace which He proclaims. Trial of this kind is promised you, it is in the covenant, and persecution and the ill will of an ungodly world are evils which you are bound to endure while you are in this world. In the world ye shall have tribulation.

Learn then where peace is to be found. These things have I spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. There was always an abiding peace in Jesus Himself, a holy calm upon His spirit, and His infinite peace breathes peace into our vacillating spirits. We rest because we see how He rests. The peace you need for this gathering is not first a change in the atmosphere around you, but a keeping of your mind stayed upon Him, for He will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him, because he trusts in Him. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even when sorrows are surging round and duties press and loved ones are far from God.

There is a peace which is no peace, when men cry Peace, peace, where there is no peace. Satan will keep conscience still to confirm his power, but that false peace is a curse. The peace which is a blessing is peace with God through the blood of atonement, from lips that cannot lie and from a heart that cannot change. To seek a mere harmony in the household while hearts remain in unbelief would be to seek that false peace. Unbelief is no small sin, it is a standing insult against the blessed Trinity and against every attribute of God, and continued unbelief God has sworn shall not enter into His rest. What your loved ones need above a pleasant afternoon is salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we must be saved.

And yet persecution has its beneficial use. It helps to keep up the separation between the church and the world which grace has made, and often the enmity of the world drives the Christian nearer to his God. How many prayers have been offered as the result of such opposition that would never have been offered else. God has blessed His church by her persecution, for it speeds her course as the wave that leaps around her.

We will pray with you not for a unity in which truth is counted valueless, for Christ the Man of War is Jesus the Peacemaker, and lasting spiritual peace comes only when the phalanx of evil is broken. We pray for the peace of God to guard your heart this day, that you may bear your sorrow with Him and know perfect peace even in the midst of reproach. We pray that you may be given meekness and wisdom, to answer with tenderness and not to render railing for railing, reflecting the calm of your Master.

And we pray for your household, for that in law who is against you and for every unbeliever at the table, that the Lord would open their eyes to see their need of Christ, that they would turn from pride and trust in themselves to trust in the Savior, that they might be born into the family and washed in the blood and pass from death unto life. Then there would be true unity, the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, a co working together in contention for the common truth of God. Until then, may you be kept faithful, and may your quiet trust and love adorn the gospel you profess.

May the Lord bless you with His own peace this day, and keep you and yours in Jesus keeping, till earthly struggles cease and He calls His people to heaven's perfect peace.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
