Prayer of forgiveness for ###, ###, ###, ###, ###, and many more. (Lord please forgive me)

Disciple of Prayer
Lord, God my father in Heaven. I've been depressed these past few weeks. I resented masturbation, lust, pornography, and smoking as a form of comfort. I know it won't help me with my depression, as my depression stems from not reading your word and ignoring your ways, as well as being a lukewarm Christian. Lord, I'm begging you please, I'm afraid of the consequences of my actions and please forgive me of my trespasses especially that I have offended you multiple times and yet you keep on blessing me.

I'm aware that great blessings will come in more if I follow and surrender all my bad habits. Please forgive me of my sins.

Seek His Face and Presence not just His hand. In his Presence is everything you need. This does not mean you can have any material thing, perfect spouse because you asked for it in Jesus Christ name. You will have your needs, some of your wants, and difficult trials. The difficult trials are supposed to refine your character and make you more like Jesus. He is more interested in getting you to everlasting life and having your heart in the right place than he is in giving you gifts. It’s eternal life he’s concerned with.

We hear your cry for forgiveness and restoration, and we join with you in humbling ourselves before the throne of grace. Your honesty about the struggles of lust, masturbation, pornography, and smoking reveals a heart that longs to be free from the chains of sin. These things do not bring true comfort—they only deepen the emptiness and distance you feel from the Lord. You are right to recognize that your depression is tied to a spiritual drought, a turning away from God’s Word and His ways. The lukewarmness you describe is a dangerous place, for Scripture warns, *"So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth"* (Revelation 3:16). But take heart, for the Lord does not cast away a broken and contrite heart (Psalm 51:17).

The sins you’ve named—lust, pornography, and masturbation—are forms of sexual immorality, which the Bible explicitly condemns. *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body"* (1 Corinthians 6:18). These acts defile the temple of the Holy Spirit, which is your body (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and they grieve the heart of God. Smoking, too, harms the body God has entrusted to you, and while it may not be addressed directly in Scripture, we are called to honor Him with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:20). These habits are not just personal failures; they are acts of rebellion against God’s design for holiness and purity.

Yet, we serve a God who is rich in mercy and slow to anger (Psalm 103:8). Your repentance is not in vain, for *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). The fear you feel over the consequences of your actions is a sign of a tender conscience, and we praise God for that. But do not let fear paralyze you—let it drive you to the cross, where Jesus bore the punishment for all your sins. *"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus"* (Romans 8:1).

You are right that blessings flow when we surrender our sins and walk in obedience. Jesus said, *"If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and remain in his love"* (John 15:10). The peace and joy you seek will not be found in temporary comforts but in a restored relationship with the Father. We must warn you, however, that repentance is not just a one-time act—it is a daily surrender, a continual turning away from sin and toward God. You cannot overcome these struggles in your own strength, but through Christ, all things are possible (Philippians 4:13).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother who has cried out for Your forgiveness. Lord, You see the weight of his guilt, the chains of sin that have bound him, and the depression that has taken root in his soul. We thank You that he has not hidden his struggles but has come to You in humility and repentance. Father, we ask that You would cleanse him of all unrighteousness—break the power of lust, pornography, and masturbation in his life. Deliver him from the grip of smoking and any other habit that does not honor You. Fill the void in his heart with Your presence, Lord, for You alone can satisfy the deepest longings of his soul.

We pray that You would restore his joy and renew his spirit. Help him to flee from temptation and to run to Your Word daily, for it is a lamp to his feet and a light to his path (Psalm 119:105). Strengthen him to resist the devil, knowing that he will flee (James 4:7). Surround him with godly accountability, Lord, so that he does not walk this path alone. Remind him of Your unfailing love, which never ceases, and Your mercies, which are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Father, we ask that You would heal his mind and emotions from the effects of depression. Fill him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and remind him that he is not defined by his failures but by the blood of Jesus, which has set him free. Help him to walk in the victory that is already his in Christ. We pray that You would draw him closer to You, Lord, and that he would experience the fullness of life that comes from living in obedience to Your will.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment as he seeks to rebuild his life on the foundation of Your Word. May he find strength in fellowship with other believers and in the power of prayer. Father, we ask that You would bless him abundantly as he seeks to honor You with his life. May he become a testimony of Your grace and mercy, shining Your light in a world that so desperately needs You.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to You, and it is only in His name that we find forgiveness, healing, and restoration. Amen.

Now, dear brother, we urge you to take practical steps to walk in the freedom Christ has won for you. First, immerse yourself in Scripture daily. Meditate on God’s Word, for it is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Memorize verses that speak to your struggles, such as 1 Corinthians 10:13: *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."* Let these words be your shield against temptation.

Second, seek accountability. Confess your struggles to a trusted, godly brother in Christ who can pray with you and hold you accountable. *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16). You do not have to fight this battle alone.

Third, replace your old habits with new, godly ones. When temptation comes, turn to prayer, worship, or Scripture instead of giving in to sin. Fill your mind with things that are true, noble, pure, lovely, and of good report (Philippians 4:8). Consider fasting from media or other influences that feed your struggles.

Finally, remember that your identity is not in your failures but in Christ. You are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), forgiven and redeemed. The enemy will try to remind you of your past, but you must stand firm in the truth of God’s Word. *"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17). Walk in that truth, and do not let the enemy steal your joy or your freedom.

We are standing with you in this battle, and we believe that God is already at work in your life. Keep pressing into Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). The road to freedom is not always easy, but it is worth it. God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Trust in Him, and He will lead you into the abundant life He has promised.

We're here with you, dear friend, as you pour out your heart to the Lord. We're moved by your honesty and your desire to be free from the chains of sin that have been holding you back. We want you to know that you're not alone in this fight, and we're standing right beside you, praying for you and encouraging you every step of the way.

We want to echo what was already said, that God is rich in mercy and slow to anger. He is faithful to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness when we confess our sins. We praise God for the tender conscience He's given you, driving you to the cross where Jesus bore the punishment for all your sins.

But we also want to remind you of the power of community. Just as it's important to confess your sins to God, it's also crucial to confide in trusted brothers and sisters in Christ. They can pray with you, hold you accountable, and walk alongside you in this journey towards freedom. Remember, "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them" (Matthew 18:20).

We also want to encourage you to seek professional help if your depression feels overwhelming. God often uses therapists, counselors, and medication to bring healing and restoration. Don't hesitate to reach out to a mental health professional if you need to.

Lastly, we want to remind you of the promise in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Trust in Him, and He will lead you into the abundant life He has promised.

Let's keep praying together, dear friend. We believe that God is already at work in your life, and we're excited to see the freedom and healing He has in store for you. Keep pressing into Him, and remember that you're never alone. We're here for you, and so is our loving Heavenly Father.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.
