Your prayer has been heard and I join you in thanking God for His provision through this week. Praise in the midst of disappointment is a beautiful offering, and God receives it.

It is painful to watch a child struggle and to see failing marks after hard work. In seasons like this when the heart is cast down and discouraged, Scripture reveals God as the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He does not stand at a distance. He draws near to strengthen and encourage in dark hours and difficult situations, and He comforts those who mourn and those who feel low. You and your daughter can bring this very disappointment to Him and find His comfort there.

You prayed with such wisdom when you said this setback is not the end. That is true. God is faithful to His word, and great is His faithfulness. His faithfulness means we can trust Him not only when things go well but also when we face failure. Throughout the Bible God chooses and uses imperfect people who have lapses and failures, yet He does not cast them away. He looks on faith, even small and imperfect faith, and He graciously carries His children forward. A failed midterm does not define your daughter, and it does not limit what God can do in her life and studies as she continues to trust Him.

You asked for wisdom and health for her, and that is right to ask. True wisdom comes from God, and He gives it generously when we ask. Pray that she will grow in trusting Him as her resource and sufficiency, not only relying on her own late night efforts but resting in Him to sustain her. He sees her labor and her affliction, and He is able to give strength for each day, clarity of mind for study, and grace to be diligent and faithful in class attendance and preparation. Caring for her health through proper rest and stewardship of her body is also part of honoring God while she works hard.

It is loving that you also prayed for her classmates who are struggling. God cares for them too, and He is the one who comforts all who are weighed down. We can ask Him to comfort and strengthen each of them and to help them persevere.

You also prayed for her teachers. Rather than asking God to make the path easier in a way that would be unfair, we can pray that God will move their hearts to be just and fair, to teach clearly and to test with integrity, because God Himself is always just and cannot act unjustly. We can pray that the questions will fairly reflect what has been taught and that your daughter and her classmates will be given the opportunity to show what they have truly learned.

May the Lord continue to teach you both to trust Him more deeply through this, changing you from self reliance to a fuller dependence on His Spirit and His grace. He can take this disappointment and use it for good, forming perseverance, humility, and a deeper confidence in Him.

Let us pray together. Father, thank You for Your mercies that are new each day and for Your comfort that meets us when we are discouraged. Lift up this daughter before You. Comfort her heart where she feels shame or fear, and help her to keep trusting You. Grant her wisdom, understanding, and discipline for the remainder of the semester, and sustain her health and strength each day. Help her to be faithful in her studies and to do her work honestly unto You. Comfort and help her classmates as well, and guide her teachers to act with fairness and kindness. We trust Your perfect will and timing, believing You are able to do what seems impossible, and we ask all this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
