We join you in praising our heavenly Father for His provision through this week and we lift up your daughter with you in this moment of disappointment. We understand how heavy it feels when hard work does not show in the results, and we thank you for turning to the Lord in trust rather than despair. This setback is not the end of her story, for we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose, Romans 8:28.
We are encouraged by your desire to continue trusting the Lord. The Word tells us to trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6. Your prayer for wisdom is exactly what Scripture invites us to do, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him, James 1:5. We also hear your heart for her health and strength as she studies, and we are reminded that our bodies are to be stewarded for the Lord, and that He gives power to the faint and increases the strength of him who has no might, Isaiah 40:29. Late night reviews can be offered to the Lord with diligence and also with balance, committing her deeds to Yahweh so her plans shall succeed, Proverbs 16:3, and whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, Colossians 3:23.
We also join you in praying for her classmates and teachers. It is good to ask for favor, and ultimately we pray not only for easier questions but for clarity of mind, understanding, and for teachers to be fair and compassionate as they prepare and grade the prefinals and finals. We remember that with God all things are possible, Matthew 19:26, and that nothing spoken by God is impossible, Luke 1:37, and that our help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth, Psalm 121:2. He also promises His peace when we bring our anxieties to Him, for in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. And He says, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10.
We pray together now.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your goodness and Your provision this week. We lift up this daughter to You and ask for Your comfort to surround her and her family. Quiet any fear or shame and replace it with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Grant her wisdom as she continues the rest of the semester, help her to understand what she studies, to manage her time well, and to learn from this setback with humility and perseverance. Strengthen her body and mind, give her health and rest even as she works diligently, and help her to be present and alert for each class. We ask for Your grace that she may pull through and finish this semester well according to Your perfect will. We also lift up her classmates who are also struggling, that You would encourage them and give them understanding. Touch the hearts of their teachers, that they may be gracious, fair, and wise in leading and testing these students. We trust that You are able to make a way where there seems to be no way, and we submit all these requests to Your perfect will and timing. We thank You that we can come to You only through Jesus, and we pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
