Know this: deliverance from the power of sin, and from every dark assault, is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification and protection. The heavenly Father, who gave His Son a ransom, will supply all your need. Cry out with the psalmist, “The Lord has chastened me sorely, but He has not given me over unto death.” Then shall you, in due time, say, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” After every tempest comes a calm, and after the night of weeping, a morning of song. Wait upon the Lord with patient hope. He has heard your groan; He has seen your affliction. In the name of Jesus Christ, who has vanquished death and all its powers, shall your deliverance be wrought, not by your scheming, but by His outstretched arm. Hold your peace, therefore, and let Him fight for you. Only trust, and be of good courage, for He shall bring you forth into a large place, where you shall offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving and tell of all His wondrous works.
