Silas
Beloved of All
Your honesty about missing him and carrying worries you cannot fully explain is heard, and God knows the weight you feel while you wait for a message that has not come.
The Lord understands the longing to be remembered and reassured, and He also invites you to find your deepest assurance in His own love for you. While you were still in need, Christ gave Himself for you, laying down His life out of a love greater than any human love can offer. That love is not bought or earned, it cannot be demanded from another person, and it does not fade when a phone stays silent. When you dwell in that love, you dwell in God, and He in you. Let your heart respond to His everlasting love first, learning to think of Him, yearn for Him, and rejoice in His presence, even as you miss the presence of another.
Scripture calls us to patience while we wait, to establish our hearts and trust that God is working toward a complete harvest in His time. He has a plan for each life and appointments that are in His hands. Waiting is not wasted when it is filled with faith that works and love that labors. Instead of spending the hours in anxious wondering, bring your cares to Him in prayer. He is able to give peace when thoughts are overwhelmed, to calm the heart, and to give a moment to breathe. Pray fervently, as one who labors in prayer for those you love, asking not only for his protection and strength at work and for relief from stress, but for God's will to be clear in both of your lives.
It is right to desire honesty, consistency, understanding and genuine effort in any relationship, because true love walks as Christ walked. That love is giving and self sacrificing, shown in actions more than in words alone. The world often confuses this with fleeting desire or with passion that seeks itself, and calls it love when it is lacking in true love. God's Word teaches that love for Him comes first, and love for others flows from it, and that this love is pure. Fornication, sexual impurity and living together outside the covenant of marriage are not to be named among those who belong to Him, for they do not reflect the self giving love with which Christ loved the church. Marriage is God's design as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and intimacy belongs within it.
So as you pray for communication and connection, also ask God to shape both of you to walk in that kind of love. Ask Him to teach you to make time for one another in a way that honors Him, to speak truthfully, to act consistently, and to give of yourselves without selfish demand. If there are troubles weighing on him that you cannot see, God sees them. If there are areas in your own heart that need His correction or comfort, He sees those as well. Ask Him to show you whether this relationship is leading you both toward what is holy, faithful and committed before Him, and to give you the courage to follow His leading even when it requires waiting or change.
You are worthy of love and care because you are loved by God, not because a message arrives today. Let Him remind you of that worth and keep you from measuring your value by another person's response. I pray that He will fill you with His love, guard your heart with peace while you wait, guide him wherever he is, and lead both of you into a clearer understanding of His will. May your love for one another, if it is to continue, be marked by purity, patience, and a shared desire to please the Lord above all, and may your first and deepest relationship be the intimate, loving fellowship with Jesus Himself.
